We had an amazing stay here in January of this year, this time unfortunately not so much. Starting on a positive note, the valet was very friendly and professional! We were also checked in by a friendly staff member who stated she was upgrading us to a King room (I thought I had actually booked a king room but wasn't sure). As a titanium member, I never expect upgrades but it is always an appreciated surprise when it happens. The first thing we noticed was that the room was very small with the only window facing windows in the building next door. We aren't picky and were not planning on spending a lot of time in the room so we settled into the room for our stay. At 9am the next morning we heard loud drilling and other power tool noise and loud voices coming from the room next door at the end of the hallway. Our room was second to the end. I walked in the room to find a construction crew tearing out the room. One of the workers stated that they were scheduled to work on it all weekend. We approached a staff member at the front desk on the way out to breakfast and asked if he could talk to a Manager regarding another option for us. He said he would. We returned early afternoon and he was gone so we again spoke to another staff member. She said she would talk to a Manager and get back to us. We did not hear from anyone that day and the workers had stopped for the day so we let it go. Next morning 9am sharp they were back at it. I called and spoke to Mayra the Manager on duty and she stated the staff member who checked us in had noted in her notes that she had told us about the construction. That was an absolute mis-truth. We would not have spent our vacation in a room with major construction going on next door. She then asked why we didn't talk to anyone the day before. I told her we talked to two different Staff members. She offered Marriott points for our trouble - we settled on one night complimentary parking but felt that both nights parking should have been comped. That personally will be our last stay at this property but do again want to end on a positive note and say we have had very nice stays here in the past. We are just disappointed any property would move guests into a room next to major construction when the they clearly had other options for us.

The moment you walk in to the lobby it smelled like mildew and funky gym bags! The parking is a nightmare, 42 dollars for parking!!! Unaccommodating for disabled people. There is only one access point on the roof to the hotel in the self parking garage. The room wasn't any better. It smelled like funk and other smells I can't quite describe. The room looked and felt dirty even after I wiped it down with Clorox wipes. Lipstick on a pig, and run down, room was also constantly dark no matter the time of day. Next time I will listen to the reviews, we won't be returning to this run down hotel. Look elsewhere.

If you need to be nearby, you can't beat the location. Our family lives in Crestview, about a mile and a half away, so it works for us. The service is fine, though using the self parking garage is a little funky: no elevator. You can use the hotel elevator to get to the fourth floor crossover, then walk down, or park at the crossover. The decor is strictly Residence Inn. If you're expecting something special because you're in Beverly Hills, you'll be disappointed. The Residence Inn breakfast is fine, though no scrambled eggs or link sausage. Breakfast sandwiches, corn muffins with vegetables, etc. The pastries included a very good blueberry scone, though, and the coffee and orange juice were very good, too. We were on points so I can't comment on pricing.

Overall, nice hotel. Took off 2 stars because I was double charged for parking for one day...a $36 error that I was lucky to catch. Manager has not explained why this happened . I'd recommend this hotel, but carefully check your bill!
