My girlfriend and I had the most amazing time here at elk horn!! Everyone we met was just so welcoming and friendly, not to mention our guide Jamie was the absolute best! He was soo informative and helpful with every question we had, overall made the experience super enjoyable for us through out the whole ride!! The ride itself was also breathtaking with the scenic views and the ride through the woods and aspens. Both of us couldn’t of asked for something more perfect! I recommend this place for anyone wanting a perfect horse back riding experience! Even first timers! My gf had never been and they gave her the perfect horse, easy to control and did everything in their power to ensure we were comfortable, safe, and happy the entire time!! 10 stars if I could !!

This was THE BEST trail ride I have ever been on. The wranglers Jaime and Garrison did an amazing job at explaining the history of the trail and landmarks. You can tell the horses are well kept. The scenery on the trail was unforgettable.

Rode with Sonny on a wonderful trail above the Rocky Mountains! He is such a kind man and made my 1st experience riding a horse memorable! Long review but the details are important, I promise. LOOK NO FURTHER: Elkhorn is, by far, the best place I’ve found in the 3 years I’ve been driving through Colorado, and I’ve tried almost every stable in the area. Ever, the animal whisperer, was my guide for the 2-hour advanced ride and I had the best time. I’m pretty convinced this man can actually talk to animals (ask him about his crow friend). Ever started riding at 4 years old and has been able to handle even the toughest rescue cases (no worries; their horses are so sweet after learning that Elkhorn is their new, safe, loving home). I have so much respect for how well he knows these horses. Ever made sure I was comfortable with Lady Lee, my horse for the day. He showed me how he takes extra care of the kids on his rides by riding backwards in his saddle (he can even trot this way) to keep them calm and happy. Fantastic conversation, great laughs, and breathtaking views. Please be sure to tip your guide, as they are volunteers and tips are their income. What you pay in the office goes to the care of the horses they have rescued. Ever: if you’re seeing this, I hope you got my tip! I left it with the woman in the office when you had to take off for the other ride.
