I stayed here during parts of the year 2020. I mean from my experience it wasn't that bad, they give you quite alot of food at dinner time, showers were ok, beds were decent to sleep in...Hell it kept me out of the elements that's all I cared about and they helped me get back on my feet. If you take it serious you'll be fine. I just kept myself to myself and did what I needed to do there in order to get an apartment again for myself.God bless.

Stayed there 2 nights. Staff was alright and helpful, bed was warm and somewhat comfortable. Showers were lukewarm but not cold. Dinner was good with generous portions, I'm a big boy and love to eat but even I struggled to finish what I was served. Be careful of who you interact with in here though because some are there for the wrong reasons, even the staff gave me that warning. Other than that I have no complaints.

City Union Mission is a bright spot for many homeless and underprivileged people and families in the Kansas City area. This event is the yearly motorcycle ride which raises money for a great cause.

Yes they do
You have to be checked in to get a bed and then you will eat when they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or you can ask for a sack lunch if you miss the time they serve food.
Single bags only; can be stored overnight for free. There's a "safety box", 25¢ for key availability; unlocking the box resets the cost. A padlocked storage locker I think requires $20+ month month, of which $10 is a refundable deposit. Everything cash.
Yes we do take donation at the mission and over at the CLP building its across the street from the mission
Yes just no food drink or open containers, no weapons of any kind
There have been a lot of changes in the past 2 weeks. A few of the staff have quit and the hours that they open doors have changed. They need to hire more help for things to get better or things are going to get a lot worse.
YES 90 DAYS IS THE MAX. THEN WORK WITH A PROGRAM CASE WORKER.
They will help you find a job get your education if you need it is a very good program it works if you want it to work but you have to want it
Yes they do. They change you for the locker and you have to have a lo ck
Early Morning or Early Afternoon...!?
No, We are not set up for that. You might check with Synergy House.
7am
I believe its that one past family experience they house family in a small area but they still have rules time to be out and curfew.
They run that place like a prison only difference is you can leave anytime
We don’t take used mattresses. We do arrange pickups for most items.
They have a great staff, very trust Worthy and professional. Give them a chance to prove themselves and I believe you will find a great place to put your trust in..
I don't know when they unlock the doors in the morning but they are locked from 10:30am - 1:15pm. They give out beds at 3:00pm and the doors are locked after 6;30pm. Best time to get a bed is 2:00pm - 5:00pm. If its your first time or if you haven't had problems here before then you will most likely get a bed.
If you need a place to stay for the night, get there before 6:30pm, if you need to eat, be there before 5pm and tell them you need a place to stay and ask for a bed. If available, you will eat @5:30, you have to shower starting @7:30 and bed time is @9:30.
Yes I am at Crown Center in a tent

Yes, they will get you the help you need. I myself live in the Christian Life Center and it is a great program for those wanting to get their life back on track. The case managers are super awesome and are there to help you restart a positive lifestyle. If you genuinely want help then I definitely recommend coming here brother. God bless and I will keep you in my prayers.
Yeah they have specific hours of operations. Call first and find out
Yes you can they will let you use their phone in the office. You can also use a cellphone if you have, but not in the chapel, or upstairs in the sleeping quarters
You can always call ahead
$20 up front for a locker and 10 each month your $10 deposit will be returned when you leave
2:00 PM
As was stated above, the shelter is two blocks due north of the greyhound. In regards to programs and length of stay that would vary based on your exact situation, but your willingness to do chores is a major positive .
If this is the first time you've ever been to the Mission just come in, otherwise registration is at 3:00pm to about 6:30pm. If you are just looking for a shower though Hope Faith on Admiral may meet your needa better
No waiting list. No one turned away
That would depend on your individual situation. There are ways for that to work, but you would need to speak with a case manager first to work everything out. Normally check in closes around 630-700
You can call and inquire with the staff if they have been on the Run roster for bed lately you can leave a message and if they do come through did you get your message and call you
Yes
Yes. They'd probably prefer if he tried something upward somehow. Some homeless have been "barred" from City Union Mission & that creates animus (even tho these "bars" are generally limited & appeal-able)
By today's standards no, pragmatically they have an elevator & means.
Yes they accept all mens clothes as well as shoes jackets hats and bedding.
No. Men's facility cannot accommodate "companion animals" NOR very formally designated SERVICE animals (typically dogs).
Yes. Not specifically in main center but even there announcements are made. Most programs encourage & frequently mention jobs opportunities.
They put you out when they want to
