This place is so old school. I love it. Plenty of helpful knowledgeable staff.
Douglas Hardman
Good quality. Good selection. The prices are fair. They have very good gardening advice.
Carri DeBeaumont
One of my favorite places. Good selection of vegetables for your garden. Always say I am going to drop in and just look and end up walking out with a cart full of goodies.
Jessica Lambert
Honestly this is the perfect place to get veggie plants and supplies for your garden. The employees are very nice too and helpful.

I'm not sure. Perhaps you should call them.
And u should look into going organic, companion plantings, and lady bugs
I understood that they were confirmed late last summer in OC! I just bought Montery Spinosad to spray on but there is nothing in the booklet that says it is specific for Chili Thrip. Just a few of my 50 rose bushes are beginning to show the deformed/burnt new foliage as well as dwarfed growth. I want to try to stop it before it gets as bad as last summer. I asked at Rodgers Gardens yesterday and they told me there was nothing you can do except cut the roses back. I did that the end of summer last year but I don't think we had a cold enough winter to kill the Thrip! Thanks for you suggestions, though!
Yes, they have mulch in bulk. They have good prices on bags of compost Try the Garden & Bloom Soil Building Compost They also have Pumice in bulk, much cheaper than those tiny bags
I don't know. You would need to call and ask. I know they have bagged castings but I'm not sure what you mean by "fresh".
I don't know an exact nursery...The male pollen you want to avoid, interesting info: I know also Acer rubrums can change sexes. I would call Village Nurseries in Orange. I wish I could be of more help. I am a landscaper however I do not deal with acers. I also would do a search of socal Acer and tree growers and start calling. Perhaps, Boething Tree farm, or Garden View nursery in Irwindale, or Moon Valley nursery may help you.
A net is helpful for birds. When I had fruit trees, I bought bags, 100s of paper bags a put them around the fruit, I never had Pests eating them. Another thing to protect your trees is to have an insect border area, it is an area that is friendly to predator insects. Plant plants from the families of Aster, Coriander, Mint, Verbena... Get the book by Jessica Wallis Eric, How to Attract Beneficial Insects or something like that, i use insect borders and I have not sprayed for Pests in 22 years.
