The Allergy-Free Gardening book lists the following Acers : Dorie, Autumn Glory, Davey Red, Embers, Festival, October Glory or Red Sunset. Do you know where I can find a grower that sexes their trees, it must be a FEMALE tree.

I don't know an exact nursery...The male pollen you want to avoid, interesting info: I know also Acer rubrums can change sexes. I would call Village Nurseries in Orange. I wish I could be of more help. I am a landscaper however I do not deal with acers. I also would do a search of socal Acer and tree growers and start calling. Perhaps, Boething Tree farm, or Garden View nursery in Irwindale, or Moon Valley nursery may help you.
