EZ to use website but the State fleeces you with over the top toll rates. They get plenty in tax revenue through fuel and the turnpike authority is full of graft, as proven in the past. Abolish the turnpike authority!

The whole process of getting an EZ Pass was so much easier than I thought and the ladies here at customer service make sure that it is as simple as possible I chose the option to pick up my tags because I was in the area but they will ship them as well kudos to these ladies

Hi Beth, We do need the new license plate (not the temp plate). If you just switched your registration over with the same plate, you should be good. But don't forget to mount your new transponder! If you need new velcro strips, just let us know. Thanks!

Hi Susan, If you have your license plate of the car you were in listed on your account we will be able to match up the transaction to your account. When are car drives through and the electronic payment doesn't occur via E-ZPass, our system takes a picture of the license plate and we have folks here who match up the plates to account holders. You can put it in the new car, if you have a new license plate number be sure to go into your account and add it.
You should pick it up ,however they will snap your plate at every toll you pass thru and send you the bill,be sure to pay within 7 days from receiving it

With a Maine E-ZPass you put money on your account and then the tolls are deducted from that balance. You oftentimes pay less than the cash rate and with more frequent travel you can also get additional discounts.

Unless the vehicle is registered in your name, the easy pass would not cover you. The violation would be sent to rental company and a fine would be given to you.
No, you do not need a new E-ZPass. When you go through the E-ZPass lane the sensors in the road will detect the number of axels and charge your account appropriately. However, you should add your truck plate to your account -- just in case the transponder doesn't read. That way we can manually apply the toll to your account. If you are going out of state, you might want to add the trailer plate as well (but I would take it off after your done traveling). Hope this helps!
Hi Anne - E-ZPass is not accepted on the west coast currently. It currently is accepted as far west as Illinois and as far south as Florida (in certain areas). I believe they take a picture of your license plate at the toll plaza and will send a bill to the address the plate is registered to. Hope this helps.
