Wonderful area, plenty of wildlife sightings, room to spread out in the cabin and in the yard. There was plumbing work being one on the property and one of the toilets had an out-of-order sign. That left 1 toilet for everyone to share. This should have been noted in the property details prior to reservation.

Amazing!! Half Moon Ranch, and the surrounding Cochise Stronghold, is a magical, magical place. The ranch itself is adorable. The views are breathtaking. The cabin is huge. I can't wait to return! It would be a great place for a family getaway with kiddos!!

Scenery, peace, quiet, and seclusion is excellent. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, fans etc.. We did see a mouse, not overrun by any means. But we had to sit in bed of truck because of large biting ant colonies. If you cannot use the front or back porch the price is insane. The USFS can bait the large colonies and keep them under control but did not. I lived on acreage in Cochise county for years the ants can be controlled by house. It is an old farmhouse, do not expect a hotel, otherwise stay in a hotel. Screens are torn on most windows and unable to use without having open path for every insect into home. I would stay here again but bring provisions for ant control, they will bite/sting kids and pets.

An outstanding cabin that you can rent! Lots of Windows, all openable that allows the cabin to breath, as there is no HVAC system for heating or cooling. There is however a nice fire place that is perfect for heating during cold months. Best of all, there is bathrooms and showers, 2, which do have hot water! Another great part is the kitchen, full size with a fridge, ready for spending weeks and not having to go anywhere. Cochise Stronghold is a outdoor enthusiast dream, very undiscovered, any given weekend you will most likely be the only person out there, probably three absolute best part of this place!

Cell service is spotty. Sometimes it works indoors, often not. Was always able to connect outside in the rear of the house, though.
You can set up tents outside of the cabin (ground is lumpy), but you still have to reserve and pay. Max people is 10 and i think 4 cars. It is a cabin with a locked driveway and some surrounding land.
