Holiday Inn El Paso Airport, an IHG Hotel

Stayed for four nights and the staff was great. From the front desk, the cleaning personnel to the maintenance team all were very polite, helpful and efficient. I would walk in with food and drinks and they would offer to help me with my room door. If I needed towels, extra trash bags they would bring it right away. Maria Franco is the best as she is very good with all the customers and her employees. This hotel has great employees and customer service which is why I give it a 5/5. Even though the hotel is going through some remodeling it did not affect my stay at all.

The reason I'm giving 2 stars is a few things. Their outside doors were broken so the card didn't work on them. Pool looked not very well kept. Hallway 4th floor had area that were sunk in. Last, the moment we went in the room smelled like cat. For the price that I paid I was not happy with the hotel. I will probably not use Holiday Inn again in my travels. The cleaning personnel were very nice and so was the front desk though.

Positive: Staff was warm, friendly and helpful without exception. Room size was quite good and included a king bed and sitting area that was nice. Negative: At check in i was asked to sign a separate sheet of paper that i understood my room to be non smoking. When my wife and i entered our assigned room it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke which was quite disgusting.

This hotel is a great example of why I always try to chose an IHG hotel when traveling to an unknown city. Isabelle and all of the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I was given an upgrade, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Also, the hallways and my room actually smelled good, not just tolerable...very clean! Spoiler alert: it looks like they are doing some very nice renovations to their eating areas here, so I bet it would be even better next time:)
