There is a nice trail here. You can see the collapsed S-Trestle bridge and the standing Mexican Trestle bridge by following the trail. The trail coming back up to the parking area is pretty steep in places and you may get winded if you live near sea level and have had a few too many candles on that last birthday cake.

Very well worn path that for the most part 2 people can walk next to each other. Lots of up and down hills, but benches are among the way. There's an area that's private property, but you can go in and see the tracks as long as you are respectful of the property.

The biggest issue is lack of staffing. Trestle Depot is run primarily by volunteers, and they have limited hours to work. We need to close the gates daily to deter vandalism, which has been an ongoing issue in the area. The closing time of six pm has been negotiated with the last six host couples. Any later cuts into their dinner and sleep time, and is too much to ask for a volunteer. Our day does not end until everyone is out of the depot safely, and sometimes will go till 8pm or later with the existing park hours, due to lost or injured hikers on the trail. When cars do not return by dark, we do contact local PD to check for stolen vehicles or lost individuals. This is rare, but does happen a few times per year.
