We have stayed at several locations in Cloudcroft. Spruce Cabins is our new go-to place when we come to town. Toni the owner was very friendly/helpful. She probably showed us about ten cabins. We loved cabin #14 very clean comfortable, and they don’t allow pets in #14 & #15 which we loved. Great location for visiting downtown, the park is 1 min away and the Brewery is right across the street.

First time in Cloudcroft. Great cabin, good location, very clean. Cabin had everything we needed for a 4-night stay. We woke up in the morning to the site of deer at our front door. We will absolutely stay again at Spruce Cabins.

Non-responsive to our concerns and customer service was awful. Apparently they're under new management so beware. We rented 3 cabins. One smelled like gas upon entering (big concern), another was supposed to have 3 beds but had 2 and a lousy futon w/no sheets. Keys were left in envelope for us and no one in office all Friday afternoon so finally called emergency number. I was still calling at 8:30 that evening before finally getting sheets and gas situation resolved. Was told 2-3 times owner would call me re: missing 3rd bed but she never did. Basic items like coffee pot were missing in 3rd cabin but that seemed unimportant compared to the rest. Location is great, cabins were clean. The rest needs big improvement.

The cabin we rented seems to be falling apart, the last three times we stayed there there has been no wifi the previous 2 stays was during the winter and the heater was not working. Drove down to Alamogordo went to Walmart and bought a proper space heater sufficient to heat the place (the one provided would be lucky to warm a bathroom). Thankfully i brought it the second time as well. In the summer months i suggest bringing a fan (like we always do). I like the vicinity of these cabins and how close they are to the stores in town.
