Close to roads so can be noisy. Near the town of cloudcroft in case you need to buy things. We stayed at site 11. Close to bathroom that had toilet paper. $26/night+ $9 for additional car. Max of 8 people per campsite. Saw some wild horses . Many nearby hiking trails and geocaches. Some campsites are close to each other, some more spread out. Bring your own water needs (drink, wash etc). They sell wood $8 a bag.

Awesome place, just bring your own water!

Very happy with our first trip to Deerhead Campground. Found a site (number 17) near the back end of the site which is furthest away from the main highway. This spot was perfect because it was quiet, away from all other campers and near a restroom. They also had firewood available for purchase as well as scraps of wood off to the side which was free. Only complaints: restrooms were decent… not great, and trash can was at the entrance of the site so throwing trash needed to be planned out precisely. Overall, we were happy with our experience and will plan on returning and staying in the same area.

Beautiful place, there is a tunnel you can visit and go through and the whole place is just wonderful. Restrooms were relatively clean, only a couple small spiderwebs but that's alright. The hand sanitizer provided did smell a bit funky so I used my own but it's alright. Very nice place to go to in the summer. Though, it does get a bit cold at night. This is maybe a small accident from the staff not checking our temperatures, but, a man at night was coughing and vomiting violently last night. Which are both symptoms of COVID-19. Other than that, it was a good experience.

yes thats the only fire allowed
I went to there from El Paso, just make sure to wear your face mask 😷
Pay at the entrance by putting 15 dollars in an envelope once you pick a site out. We didnt reserve a site and were easily able to get one during the week. Great stay
Nope
There is a number posted on their website you can try to call for info, although with my personal experience, it didn't connect. We went up to camp on the weekend before the July 4th, and it was first come first serve with campgrounds being at half capacity.
Not onsite, no, there isn't a lake
