When I say this place is out of the way in the middle of a city by a main freeway, I mean it, but it's worth it. This place is on a one way street on a frontage road next to the freeway on ramp that you must drive thru a mini-maze to find your destination. On the good side, the food and beer are very good with large portions too. We had the chicken and waffles and I would get them again except I would go with the standard waffles and not upgrade to the cornbread version. The chicken was excellent to complete the desired effect. My only knock is on the service side, where it might have been lacking because of staffing, so I only gave them a 4 star review.

Great friend chicken and waffles. This has been the best friend chicken we have had in New Mexico, but that unfortunately is a low bar. This would be average fried chicken compared to what else I've tried. We got the honey pecan side, which is exactly that, so tasty but not worth the $2. Edit: because I was asked. The flavor of the chicken was very earthy it wasn't bad just not something that I personally enjoy. The waffle was nice and hardy, but was just a basic Bisquick recipe.

Since the pandemic started I heard aot of good things about Nexus. It took more than a minute to get here and I'm coming back for more. I had the NM Soul burger and let me tell there's nothing like this in Albuquerque. The sweet potato fries are really good here. We're lucky to have so many great places to eat but Nexus holds it's own against any restaurant. The Mac & cheese is to die for. Also, the service is top notch here. My waitress was very friendly and made sure I was good. The general manager also made the rounds and checked on the guests. I will be returning and hope anyone that reads this checks out this gym off I-25!

Nexus is a great place to visit. The food is Soul Food with a South West Mexican infusion. The 3 dishes I consumed were filled flavor and spices. On the Brewery side, my imperial stout was robust and flavorful. The bartender was attentive and friendly. All of the food choices at Nexus had you wanting a sample. Nexus is worth a visit when visiting Albuquerque. It’s a hang spot for locals to experience good dining.

Yes family friendly, good fusion of southern and new mexico cuisine
You can bring your pet on the porch! We've enjoyed a lunch and beers and we brought our dogs!
I was in a group of almost 15 and even though we called twice, we ended up waiting almost two hours before we were seated
They seem to be in compliance with state requirements.
