THIS IS NOT THE TRAIN STATION FOR THE BEACH!!!!! I frequently meet confused travelers who have gotten off here thinking they are mere steps away from Laguna Beach, when in reality the beach is still 10 miles away, and there is no bus route that will take you there. If you want to go to the beach via train, San Clemente station is your only option. This is an unmanned train station. It's clean and easy to navigate. There's plenty of parking available, ticket machines on each side of the track, and a well-kept single-stall public restroom. Benches and some shade available as well, and an electronic departures board to keep abreast of train comings and goings.

It's a train stop with covered seats and ample street and lot parking and the beginning and end of the line for some Metrolink trains (688, 685, maybe others). Amtrak does not stop here. Update: The construction has been completed and there's an accessible ramp, elevator, or stairs through a tunnel to the other side.

No, the Metrolink only goes as far south as Oceanside. However, once in Oceanside you can transfer to Amtrak or the Coaster train.
It is free.
No. Amtrak stops at san juan Capistrano and at Irvine
It's one station, the address is the same, the only difference is on which side of the tracks you'll be driving to. The street on the 'proper' station is Forbes Road and on the other side of the tracks is Camino Capistrano.
