Brought the kids to get out for a few minutes. Lots of life at this park and the view is gorgeous.

Very close to downtown (so close to bike rentals). Some hills are a good work out but mostly flat. Nice mountain bike trails connected to this paved trail. Nice view of the Turnagain Arm, especially low tide when the mud flat is exposed. Half way point you can see huge planes landing close by, quite a unique experience. Lots of mosquitoes if you stop in the woody/leafy part of the trail, but not so bad if by the sea. The best park is it rarely cross traffic so you can have a continuous ride/walk/run without worrying about cars for a while.

We biked the whole trail for our first time in Anchorage and had so much fun. We saw lots of birds and a moose. The different views of the coast and the different parks you ride through are all wonderful stops. Walking a portion at least is highly recommended.

If you love a beautiful view and a nice walk then the coastal trail is definitely a must do while visiting Anchorage.
