We stayed here in a 3b3b apartment for two years (2020-2022) and had a generally positive experience. Here are the pros and cons in my opinion: pros: - most neighbors are very nice and respectful - close to Costco and a few decent restaurants and the human bean coffee shop, very convenient! - good location: away from the problem areas of downtown, so while we did have our catalytic converter stolen the first month of staying here, there were no break-ins or any other type of petty crime that you'd see in downtown (if you have a Prius, I recommend getting a bracket installed to prevent the theft of your catalytic converter, its very common in Eugene). - the amenities are nice (gym + pool) cons: - if you work from home the noise will be somewhat of a problem. The leaf blowers are maddening (I really hope they switch to electric leaf blowers some day). Also there are a lot of families and their kids usually play in the common areas. Its great that the area is so safe that people let their kids play unsupervised but there will be a lot of kids yelling and screaming (during daytime of course). if you don't work from home then you don't have to worry, the area is quiet at night in our experience. - The summer heat in the upstairs area: there is only one air conditioner unit covering the first floor. So the bedroom upstairs end up getting very hot. We actually had to sleep in the living room the first summer (fans wont do anything to help). The second one we got a portable AC unit (window mounted ones are not allowed), but it could barely cover one bedroom (only up to 8000 BTU units are allowed) and it would trip the breakers once in a while. These portable AC units are expensive, inefficient and draw way too much power. Oddly enough, when I complained about this on their tenant forum my post was deleted! - dog $hit everywhere: this is not the issue with the building, but one or two problematic neighbors - We were charged 1000$ for moving out (carpet cleaning, etc). Granted, we did spill coffee on the carpet. And my office chair caused damage to the carpet area upstairs. We had to move back to California after two years but I miss our apartment and our neighbors in Tennyson! And the chirping of the birds in the morning.

The Tennyson is a fantastic community with tons of amenitie sincluding a heated year-round pool, hot tub, parcel lockers, dog walkways, and a great clubhouse with a gym. I find the area to be quiet overall but with a lively area nearby in Crescent Village. The village itself has some great brewpubs and bars, a sushi place, a pho restaurant, a salon, a burn bootcamp, and even an art studio for events. I really like that everything is wihtin walking distance and you can enjoy additional amenities nearby like Costco, Winco (coming soon), a bakery/cafe, a few other restaurants, a convenience store, and much more. Good walkways for the dogs with lots of clean up stations and the maintenance staff does a good job of cleaning up anything that's left behind. Other staff at The Tennyson are very helpful and friendly and they often go above and beyond to build a better community. Floor plans are abundant and we enjoy the spaciousness and newness of our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom. Appliances are new and matching in the kitchen-stainless steel and large. Really good choice for the washer/dryer in our unit-very large, newer, and work super well with various settings. Second bathroom and bedroom are very large and the cabinet setup matches the kitchen (a nice light and dark combo). Easy to clean everything because of the quality materials including flooring and carpet throughout. Modern touches like countertops, walkin shower, grey color on walls, wide bend shower bar to create space, etc. Owner's suite has a great attached bathroom and the windows are a nice touch for added light. The place was spotless when we moved in, which has never happened in many years of moving. Great added touches like key fobs for community access, care package upon move-in, ample communication, etc.

I have been living here only 5 days, but I have to say the process of renting and moving in has been very smooth, thanks to Shirlene and the rest of the staff at The Tennyson. They have gone above and beyond to make the experience positive, and I always feel my questions are answered and I feel they care. The staff is so friendly and professional. I submitted a minor service request (lint trap in dryer was gone) and it was handled quickly with professionalism. The apartment itself is very nice, and I have enjoyed living here so far. I'm looking forward to starting my new job and coming home here to relax every evening. I will soon try all the amenities once I am fully "settled in." The pool and workout areas look amazing, and the immaculate, welcoming lounge area is available to residents when staff is present with coffee and snacks for times when you want a little getaway from your place.

Over all I enjoy it here. I do not enjoy that the fire alarms are extremely sensitive and go off constantly all over the place so at any given time if your outside your going to listen to them blaring. If your inside and cook they will scream throughout your entire apartment even if there isn’t any visible smoke. Additionally, whoever decided matte grey was a good color to paint every wall did not consider young children. If you, your dogs, your children even consider brushing against any of the walls it will leave a stain. I feel like I spend half my life wiping marks off of the walls it’s annoying. The appliances are good quality, the neighborhood is beautiful and nice for walking and playing outside.
