This place is misleading. On the painted rocks side… there is no water like the pictures. You have to drive out of your way to get to it. No shade whatsoever, extremely windy.

The campground itself is very well maintained and there are nice restrooms and showers available too. The reservoir itself is a little sad due to the drought and low water levels. Which means burrs are covering all of the beaches. Our dog ended up with them stuck all over his paws and underside.

Ice report as of January 30th. South side seemed the thickest. It's been a bit warmer since.

Good amount of facilities, flush toilets, showers for campers and a rental shop. Water quality is better than Utah Lake but not as good as mountain lakes like Deer Creek Reservoir and Strawberry Lake.

Stay away from light sand. Last year they posted a ton of stuck trucks and trailers who parked too close.
