Easy hike down to a lovely waterfall. Lots of people and dogs on an April weekend, so certainly not serene. However, it’s unique to have access to such a large waterfall in Southern California. When we were there, a couple even canyoneered down the waterfall! We picked up five plastic water bottles on the way out, and there were more that we could have snagged if we had more hands. PLEASE pack out your trash/recycling with you.

I have been going to Eaton canyon falls off and on for most of my life. It is a great place to go for a relatively easy hike. I do recommend bringing water for the entire hike and making sure that you know what trail to stay on. The first part is a deserts somewhat flat trail and then you get into the more green area when you get close to the stream. After that it is beauty all the way. The waterfall is such a nice reward at the end being nice and cool. I'm sure the water is cold and some will take a dip but it is such a peaceful place. Gotta love the wildlife too.

The trail is easy, the hard part is to get to the waterfall. It is not indicated and we had to ask several people. There’s lots of rocks and it is easy to fall into the water. The waterfall is really nice. It took around 3h to go an back.

This is an amazing place to go for a hike. With a waterfall only 2.5 miles from the entrance, feeding a stream which flows all the way out, the trails are lush and gorgeous. Regularly crossing the stream, with only boulders and logs to help traverse, the trails provide an enjoyable experience. I'd recommend good balance and a staff to help on the journey. The air is cool and crisp, due to the fresh cold waters. With approximately 50 feet elevation change from entrance to fall, the hike is a gradual incline with only a few areas to climb up or down. Most steep inclines have alternate paths, though perhaps a bit more precarious, provide a route for those who have a difficult time climbing. Expect to encounter a good number of people navigating the path with you, as this seems to be a very popular destination. If you enjoy taking nature photos, be ready to have ample opportunities.

Yes, but please keep her on a leash. It’s illegal to have dogs off leash.
No need to make reservations.
A more extended answer is this. Ask yourself: how fit are you? The number of weeks X fitness level X Dr's opinion (if what your Dr says is taken to heart). Consider that crossing the river has rocks and due to the water and typical chemicals both man made and naturally occurring, the rocks are slippery so also consider balance. It's a beautiful place to walk around in. And for your pets, as long as they can behave off-lease, it's also a good experience for them, too. It's not completely covered with rivers, streams, waterfalls. It's excellent for hiking as there are established trails, or make your own. There are areas per your own fitness level. Common sense and good judgement are a must. Come prepared for the length of time intended to visit, time of year, the expected weather forecast, as well as comfortable shoes and clothing plus sufficient water. Cellphone service, irregardless of the carrier, may or may not work because it is located in a canyon.
It depends on ur situation. But so nice walking areas and good circumstances
Jogging stroller perhaps during the first section. After that (throughout the "interesting part" - no. Very rocky.
The entrance to the parking lot is off of Altadena Dr. You'll see a sign. The hiking trail begins towards the end of the parking lot.
Ai can't camp
I have no knowledge of thier rules about drones. Sorry
Not really, it's open to the public. Also have extra shoe or sandals because you could get wet.
From the front entrance is an hour . From the bridge access is 25 min to the waterfall
No reservation required. There is a squirrel that you will need to check in with upon arrival.
About 1.8 miles each way.
Some water, but was packed with kids and people playing loud music.
no more reservations required starting June!!
You have to call ahead and reserve for your party. One car per reservation.
Yes unfortunately we I can't help with how my sister made it but you have to book a minimum of 3 days in advance
Yes, you can check on their website and register.
The waterfall trail? It should be open every day Wednesday through Sunday. You need a reservation to enter through LA County Parks website.
About 4 miles total.
Yes But I believe it needs to be in the same month.
Yes you gotta make it through the official LA county site. It is free, you just need to create an account
Yes! Make sure you get a reservation beforehand and wear a mask, though :)
Yes but you do need to make reservation due to covid19 they're limiting the entering numbers
It was open when we went on Sept 6. We had to go through online reservation. It closed right after the brush fire started.
No, is temporary close until 9/30.
It closed earlier this week the day after I went. Until the fires calm down
We had to make our reservations at least a week in advanced. Gets filled up pretty quickly; however there are 3 time slots available: 8am, 11am, and 2pm
I understand that yes, but only scratch the information on Google maps. and I will tell you the hours and if it is open
Too many people on the weekends. Consider other hikes.
Not soo accessible but not too hard and yeah there's a couple spots to dip in
👌
Even today it is not allowed, they can only bring water and something for lunch.
If the entrance is free. Water is required
The only thing they are asking for is already open mouth covers
Its open every day sunrise to sunset
If it is already open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, do not visit the wheelchairs or wheelchairs
Base on what I heard on the news it won't be open until next week but you will have to make reservations.
at the start of the trial not at the end or in between..
The best season is Spring and water flow drops as it enters summer and drops further in fall... Also visiting early in the day is better as you can find parking and less crowd as well...
Sunrise to sunset
The parking lot opens at 7:30 am. You can park on the street and walk in earlier though
Yes you can get wet. Also if you find space to swim then yes.
Good question and I dont know the answer to that.
If you start your hike from Mt. Wilson/Pincrest Gate, look for street parking on Pincrest drive, Browing Drive or Crescent drive. It will be just over 1 mile hike. If you start from the bottom, free parking available at the park, it's about 2 mile hike from here.
Depending on whether or not you stop to enjoy the scenery, approximately 45 min to an hour up. 30 to 45 min downhill.
No it is very shallow, only to your mid calf or below the knees
I got all the way and there was a lot of water. Especially now because of the rains. People were going under the waterfall as well.
Still a good flow, but go early. Lots of people taking pictures.
a
To get to the falls itself you have to do some rock hopping over the stream, plus climb some rock boulders similar to stairs near the end, so riding would be out. There are bike trails all over. REI in Acadia has maps
Approximately 45 mins to an hour. Hope this helps.
More like a trickle, but yes. I was there about two weeks ago. There is a small waterfall with a pool of about a foot of water there now.
You can cut it in half by driving up and parking on dirt patch by the side, depends how much hiking you wanna do.
No you can't. It is not a fishing spot plus there is not that much water.
I have never ran into any deadly animal there. There is poison oak but there's only a few plants and it will only give you a rash. You wont run into a rattlesnake unless you go off trail.
You can Google it then get the map and printed. At the visitor center and no worries it is an easy trail to follow.
The hiking trails are open only during the day. (Sunrise to sunset). You could get a ticket for being in there at night.
Everyday from 6 am to sunset
There is a parking lot but opens when the center opens wich is about 7 or 8 am. Either then that you can park along the side street
