Everything you need for bird feeding and great gifts too

This place is by far the best for feeding equipment and food for wild birds. Their food I'd made up of all food with zero filler. Beware of cheaper bird food from big box stores as they are full of filler. The birds will just drop the filler all over the floor. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Join the club to receive discounts on bird food.

Easy to find location at the end suite of an anchored shopping center. Well stocked with a variety of feeders, accessories, birdseed and reference literature. Everything you might need to start or expand this pleasurable and engaging pastime. Something for everyone (everybird). To complement their stock, you will encounter enthusiastic and knowledgeable attendants (yay! Hannah) who can match your desires and location with the high quality (lifetime guaranteed) products they offer. We started with a medium sized cylindrical feeder and No-Mess Seed Mix, placing it outside our kitchen window. Now, every day reveals new treasures in viewing pleasures. Next, we're headed back for a hummingbird feeder - which I learned will also attract Orioles.

I love this shop, they are super knowledgeable and have everything you can imagine for birds. I bought my first oriole feeder my last trip here and now I have orioles. They also have beautiful one of a kind feeders, garden decorations and bird baths. :)

Everyone wears masks, we sanitize every hour and require everyone to use the hand sanitizer we have before entering the store. We offer online shopping as well as phone ordering with curbside pick up. The store is open to the public and has a much larger variety of products than our online store. See you soon!

How do I keep squirrels away from my bird feeder?

Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021
Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021

Try offering them their own feeding station with their favorite foods like corn or nuts. Use a squirrel-proof bird feeder, like the Eliminator. Place a baffle on your feeder pole. Use dome baffles above bird feeders. Try an OnGuard™ wire mesh cage around your existing feeders to keep squirrels from reaching the food. Fill your bird feeders with safflower seeds, many songbirds will eat safflower, but squirrels typically won't.

How do I stop birds from hitting my window?

Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021
Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021

Here are a few options: Set up a window feeder, it will keep the birds safe from striking the window and provide close views of them feeding. If your feeding station is in the direct vicinity of a window, move it to within three feet of the window. Install window screens. Decals and stained-glass decorations are moderately successful. Hanging vertical exterior tape stripes across the window at 4 inches (10 cm) intervals.

I put out a new feeder and the birds are not eating from it, when will they find it?

Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021
Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021

After installing a new feeder it can take a day or a number of weeks before the birds will readily take to it even if it replaces an existing feeder. Patience is key when birds are getting used to a new feeder. Birds generally find their food by sight. Placing your feeder where it will be visible to them should decrease the time it takes for birds to start feeding. Sprinkling some food on the ground or on top of the feeder can help, too.

I found a baby bird, what should I do?

Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021
Wild Birds Unlimited | Aug 21, 2021

The best thing to do if you find a baby bird is to leave it alone. If the bird appears as though it has fallen from a nest, an attempt to locate the nest can be made, and the bird can be carefully returned. If the bird has feathers, it may be a fledged bird and a parent bird is probably close by. It is best to watch the bird from a distance to see if a parent returns after an hour or so before determining that the bird needs human help.

Sorry, we do not sell birds. We provide supplies for your backyard birds. We carry bird seed, feeders, garden accents and unique gifts.

What can I do with a hummingbird that has flown into a window and must be more than just stunned? I've given it some nectar, and placed it where it won't become victim to other animals.

You are correct Gina. The Humane Society in Oceanside takes injured birds and keeps them until Project Wildlife comes in to pick them up. There is also the San Diego Wildlife Center in Carlsbad if that is closer to you.
