Platform 1 (nearest to the car park - farthest from the ocean) is Southbound to San Diego. There is an underpass to the northbound line. The station is cashless so you will need a compass or pronto card - or the mobile app.

Clean station with lack of shaded seating. There are no signs for which track will house the northbound or the southbound train. Plenty of parking. There is trail next to the station which will take you all the way to a shopping mall. The station is very close to the LegoLand.

Lots of parking, so I seldom even try to park at the downtown Carlsbad station, even though it's closer. A nice little coffee shop is open weekday mornings. AFAIK, all local trains stop here.

Both tracks run parallel, North and South. The tracks on the West side are for North bound trains. Tracks on the East side are for South bound trains.

Either Amtrak, or the Coaster local train, will get you downtown SD. Then, take the trolley to Petco ball park. Cost for one way adult on Coster; $6.50, children, seniors, $3.25. Amtrak costs a bit more...

You would have to take the Coaster train to the Oceanside station and then transfer to the Metrolink train from there. Coaster and Metrolink schedules are available online.
