I had a very gracious Vietnamese postal clerk. She even smiled and asked me how my day was. That is so unlike most of our USPS employees.

I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW A FEDERAL BUILDING WOULD ALLOW ITS LANDSCAPING TO LOOK SO POORLY. THE GRASS AT THE MAIN POST OFFICE ON SANTA CLARA HAS DEAD GRASS, OVERGROWN WEEDS, AND THE PROPERTY IS FILLED WITH TRASH CONSTANTLY. THEY HAVE A TRANSIENT THAT SLEEPS OUTSIDE AND LEAVES A MESS. SHAME ON YOU POSTMASTER FOR ALLOWING THIS LOCATION TO LOOK SO HORRIBLE AND UNKEPT!

I visit this post office pretty regularly to drop things off for online returns, or mail gifts. The staff has always been super kind, courteous, and helpful.

I would never go here again as they will rip you off for your money. I had to send a package to a good friend next day that lives locally. As directed I told them to send the next day and make sure they drop it off at the porch. When I checked my tracking apparently it was a note left on the door and they took the package back for them to pick it up. They are sick and they're unable to leave their house or drive. So I had to go to the post office and pick it up and drop it off myself as in I am always on the go and out of town. Why pay $64 for something that should have been next day and dropped off and wasn't required for a signature but they decided it needed a signature. As in it was just a couple of plants inside the box. Waste of money and bad customer service.

I would go to Alameda to the USPS Shoreline office where they are pretty much flexible for appointments and it's better to do I was in and out in 10 minutes from the time of my appointments. FYI It's free to make appointments online.
If the father's name is on the birth certificate and you do not have sole legal custody of your son, then you cannot apply for a passport for him without the notarized consent of the father. If the father cannot be located, you can submit Form DS-5525: Statement of Exigent/Special Family Circumstances
Appointments only needed for passports. To buy stamps or send packages no appointment.
I don't know if Santa Clara Office is short staff. There has been a couple of times that I had to visit the office and raise some sand about my orders
No you don't..BUT, it's always good to set an appointment and that way you are assured of prompt service
Yes, i did before
It's better to go there personally because it's hard to get in touch with them.
I am sorry but I dont read or speak Spanish.
Yes you will have to wait in line if the package pick up door is not open.
You can apply for a renewal. Office does get busy but you can do it by mail also
If you are talking about PO Boxes then this is a common flaw. The inside of the post office has boxes and that is a mail route with a unique zip code. When that batch of mail gets delivered to the boxes they are supposed to indicate in the system its delivered but many times the delivery person forgets to put a notification card in the box. If you have a tracking number take that to the front desk (yes stand in line) and ask where the mail item is since it says delivered. They should scan each item that goes to each box but the dont they just scan the whole batch that will be delivered for the day and then forget everything else.
From what I can recall it is open until 2:30pm on Sunday. I used to be able to go to my P.O. Box 24/7 anytime to check to see if I had Mail.
They should be. Normal hours are 9 to 12 & 1 to 4. Those are approximate times.
In 1971 the Postal Reorganization Act happened. As a result the USPS is self financed from its own generated revenue. Meaning no tax dollars to support it. So this type of poor service and continuously increasing postal rates is the results.
Yes. Today there were two power failures so it may need a reset but usually it works just fine. Remember they close the lobby at 8pm.
No, contact the postmaster.
Yes
I need an appointment for my children's passport
