Pretty so-so. We got fried pickles and a whole bunch of salads, and the broiled haddock sandwich. Our server took forever and was not very attentive, but he was nice. They sat us far away from everyone else in the restaurant which was a bit awkward- just a family of four. The decor was nice. Themed “costal” and had nods to the ocean everywhere. The food was basic, took a half hour to come out. Okay sandwich and seafood. Nothing special, good for lunch but I think next time I would look elsewhere.

Had a nice lunch of seafood at the Weathervane Restaurant in Kittery. The seafood was fresh, the service was good and everyone was friendly. Long established in Kittery, give them a try.

This place has better variety than most of the “fried seafood platter” type restaurants. They also have daily specials which were very tasty. The lobster pie is a bit too buttery but that is easily cut with a squeeze of the provided lemon wedge. The teriyaki salmon tips looked amazing although I didn’t try them. Started with some onion nuggets which were so much bette than onion rings! All in all, it’s not gourmet but we’ll be back.

We’ve been traveling this summer looking for good seafood places. From Small shacks to medium family own seafood joints. So far I’ve been disappointed with price quality and portion size. They were overpriced with tiny portions. We came thru Hampton beach drive and up rt 1. Got really hungry. The first restaurant on the right was Weathervane. We stopped here with the impression that a chain operation is just mediocre. Thinking it can’t get any worse than the other ones. It was Covid Labor Day weekend, pretty busy inside and out. We placed our orders immediately cos we knew what we wanted. Food arrived at least 1/2 hour later. We had Fried calamari with marinara sauce, Jumbo fantail shrimps with haddock nuggets, fresh haddock dinner seafarer portion (smaller) with fries. Sides were broccoli and garlicky mash potatoes. I also added a cup of clam chowder. All I can tell you is wow 🤩 Portion size was excellent. Haddock dinner was fresh and meaty, shrimp was succulent and crispy with lightly battered, haddock nuggets the thin pieces were a little dry but still good, calamari is crispy outside tender inside, not rubbery at all. Homemade garlicy mash was full of flavor. Clam chowder could be warmer but nothing special, tasted like it came from a can. All fried foods were fresh and hot except for fries and soup. Service was friendly and helpful. All and all I rated the experience a 4.7. I left happy satisfied and still have lots of leftovers to go. We’d definitely would come back again.

Seating is spaced out and tables are cleaned promptly during all four visits this month.
I thought they did once, but it could have been a Veterans day promotion. Call, especially now a days, more than half out if business and several closed due to Covid. (Thnx Covid)
Yes, but so does lobster house in York,me.
We offer some items that are gluten friendly but cannot guarantee gluten free. The procedure we use to hand batter our fried food sends flour airborne, therefore creating an environment that could cause a reaction for someone with Celiac.
Yes, Monday through Thursday - 3 to 6 and Sunday 4 to close. half price oysters on the half shell, selection of half price appetizers and $1.00 off all alcoholic beverages.
Delivery ordering is available on line thru Takeoutguys.biz
There are no senior discounts but we do offer "Seafarer" portions that are smaller and a very good value.
I'm wondering how your lobster was "stinking" in your car but not "stinking" at the time you received it and put it into a "to-go" box. After all, spoiled lobster is distinctly unpleasant! (I certainly wouldn't eat it, nevermind put any meal remnants into a doggie bag to take home!) Plus, when I was there at the Weathervane restaurant, I saw a large lobster tank containing several live lobsters. Customers are able to pick out the lobster they want for their meal. It doesn't get any fresher than that. It sounds as though your lobster simply spent more time in the car than it should have. Or else maybe you've confused the Weathervane with a similar-sounding seafood place.
