At first I thought Al was a little grumpy but basically a good guy with a sense of humor. I told friends and family to support his store and made an effort to only shop there to give him more business. I had heard people say Al was a little strange but I thought he was just eccentric. One day I went to Al's to buy a filet knife and mackerel lure. Al seemed a little confrontational when I asked him a question. Then he said "Let me show you something." He showed me a video of myself the last time I was in the shop when I had straightened a couple display racks which had product that was pushed back. I explained I used to work in retail and did this as habit. I explained it was supposed to make the display look better. This made Al very angry. He wouldn't sell anything to me and said my "shopping days are over." He then opened the door and shut it on my foot when I was halfway through.

Great spot! Been coming here since I was a kid and will continue to be a customer. Local shop, local knowledge and very well stocked. Rods, reels, tackle and bait he has it all. Don't bother with the big chain stores support a local business. Come here and he'll get you all setup.

Awful customer service the younger guy in baseball cap literally yelled at me saying “he had 80 other things to do and 2 rods ahead of me and no time to even look at my rods... which turns out that the string just had to be set on the bale... dude was venting saying he had worms and other things to care for and would take a few days to look at it , he sounded so stressed and miserable... ended up just buying couple of bobbers and hooks... then found an awesome shop tomo’s bait and tackle fishing store in salem, way nicer and accommodating to chat and teach proper handling of rods!!!

Yes they do
Give them a call i know they sell them
If you're looking at the shop from the street there is parking on the rear and right sides of the building. As for by boat there is a public Dock at the Beverly fishing pier directly across the street.
