Governor 's is perhaps one of the only places open Sunday in Edenton if you are looking for dinner. The atmosphere is friendly and causal. All of the employees are friendly and helpful. Great beer selection as well. Give it a try, I know I am going back.

Food was good. Service was very slow. We got our appetizer and meal at the same time. They did have a problem with the printer in the kitchen so they lost some orders and had to figure it out.

We like to walk Edenton because it is so peaceful and beautiful….so we decided to try the Governor’s Pub today. It’s a Sunday, not busy at all….we sat at the bar and the bar tender….possibly in training was nice but not really all together. We asked for sweet tea, got unsweet, we watched her screw up a simple beer order, she obviously didn’t know the selections they had, and quite simply was off….. On to the food, we placed the order quickly and after getting our tea straight we realized that just about everyone in the pub had no food….I’m assuming they only had one cook. It was never mentioned that there might be a longer wait so we sat there for at least a half hour or more for two pastrami sandwiches and fries. The fries were cold and somewhat soggy, the sandwiches were luke warm but not that bad. All I can say is for their prices and lackluster service I’d rather eat at the McDonald’s down the street.

Ate lunch here today with my wife. Maybe they are short staffed? No sign to suggest they would have slow service was posted. We ordered two sweet teas, two unsweetened teas were delivered. We both ordered pastrami sandwiches, 22 minutes later they were brought out. Fries were clumped together and room temperature. Sandwich was not filled full by any means but was decent. It was grilled but was not warm, room temperature also like the fries. We got sweet tea from the bartender that tasted like simple syrup it was so sweet. For almost $40 for two sandwiches and two drinks I can honestly say it was a rip off. Should have stopped at Taco Bell instead…
