I went to this store while visiting Beverly, today. I walked around for more than 15 minutes before finalizing what items I wanted to purchase. As I stood waiting for the cashier, a male worker approached me and stated I had to put on a mask. There are no mask mandates. When there have been mandates I have complied. When I stated there were no mandates and that I’d been shopping without incident and without anyone saying anything, he asked me to leave. He said that they do not follow the Federal or MA guidelines on masks and require them regardless. Being forced to either wear masks at this point or refused service, and when the CDC and State of Massachusetts say it is NOT required is discriminatory. As this is a charity, it is even more appalling. They pride themselves on helping others. There was no reason for the refusal of service. It was against State and Federal recommendations and unfortunately, I will not support them. For charity organizations, every penny counts. There are deserving individuals that could have benefitted from my purchase today and now will not.

Thank God you changed the layout back to the way it was before! It was way too crowded in there with all those racks. Now the store looks so neat, open, and welcoming! Everyone who works there is so kind and the manager was so helpful during my last visit. So happy to see management taking feedback and making the necessary changes. Beverly Bootstraps is the best store around!

I have to agree with some of these reviews about the new store set up. While I understand you are trying to sell more clothes, the clothing sale floor is very congested and it’s hard to look for clothes. It makes the store look cheap. Also, I’ve heard a few encounters with the new employee, he is not nice and very condescending. He walks around as if he owns the place. The girls are wonderful and although I have not seen the store manger, Ed in a while, he is also great.

We can not offer discounts for donating since giving something in return for a donated item changes the nature of the donation. That said, we do offer 10% off to seniors (55+) every Tuesday, students receive 10% off every day, and regular-priced adult clothing is 50% off every Wednesday. I hope this helps. Thank you for asking! We require face masks be worn properly covering both mouth and noes. We ask that all customers use hand sanitizer upon entrance. There are hand sanitizing dispensers throughout the shop. We have protective plastic sheeting and plexiglass around registers and glass cases. There are directional arrows to follow keeping traffic flowing in one direction. We ask that customers stay 6 feet apart. Only 25 customers are allowed in the shop at any given time.
