Someone who works at this post office stole my online order (after being delivered by UPS Mail Innovations). Imagine, this post office has the nerve to deliver my package from the Gap with an empty bag (they left an empty package - clearly cut open - inside my locked mailbox) and scaned the item deliverd. Just WOW! Reported to the manager, but he's close to useless. He confronted the mail courier who delivered it becaues she didn't stamp the package as "OPEN PACKAGE or DAMAGED DURING TRANSIT". So what did the manager do? He just told me to report it to the sender (Gap) to request a replacement. I also reported the theft online to USPS.com, but never heard from them (no surprise here). Fortunately, Gap is good and sent a replacement. In addition, my friend used to work at this post office as a temp and he told me some horror stories that happen behind the scene. Post office employees actually peek through packages to see if they can steal anything. Make sure you seal your packages with plenty of tape, insure it and even add signature service (if valuable)!

The Employees when you go inside to mail something are awesome. But delivered mail is screwed up a lot. We have had packages, Mother's Day, Birthday and Christmas cards never delivered. Inquiries made regarding them, and never an answer.

The negative reviews here are the result of a lack of perspective. Maybe these folks have never had to use a post office anywhere else in Los Angeles. The employees here have always been patient and polite to me even though I have a box and come almost every day to receive parcels, some of them heavy. I moved here from the Woodland Hills/Tarzana area where walking in and getting either no line (happens all the time in Monrovia!) or just a few people in line would be unheard of at ANY time of ANY day. I love my new post office!!

I wondered about the poor ratings since I have lived in Monrovia for 15 years and always had friendly, helpful service, but I think today I met the cause of the poor ratings. I had the misfortune of being "assisted" by C. Butler, and she came across abrubt and incompetent. At one point she claimed the tracking number I brought was not one the post office uses until I informed her that I had already called their office and confirmed my package was there, at which point she consigned herself to actually look for it (and found it). I still saw some of the same friendly help there, so I think it depends on who you get, but obviously management is failing to ensure all care about good customer service. I would give the office a 5 star, but subtracted 1 for her (it should have been more) but I feel sorry for the long time employees in the front who have been nice over the years.

Call them and tell them what you want to do. They will send someone out for the switch over. You might let the residents know to hold their mail for a day when you know the date. But i would ask the post office if thats even necessary. They may take the mail into possession during the change over and place it in the boxes when done. Getting keys to residents might be the hardest thing to do. Good luck.
