A must try hike. We did it around noon. It’s better to do it morning for better view.

This view was epic! The trailhead was very difficult to find. I parked at Los Leones Trailhead. The trail itself is decently difficult tho so bring lots of water + snacks. Another thing is you can get the same view at lots of different vantage points below point Mesa Overlook, so if you want to do a shorter hike and still have the views it’s entirely doable. Over all this was a great hike 10/10

The trail starts out in the shade up to the first overlook. It’s a steady, unshaded climb to the second overlook. We went Sunday at about 9:30 am. It was cloudy. By time we got to Parker Mesa Overlook, it started clearing up. Bring water, a hat and a snack.

This hike is an out-and-back trip approximately 7 miles round trip with about 1250 feet of elevation gain. The first mile and a half follows a well-worn trail through coastal scrub. The path is heavily travelled, especially on weekends. The next two miles follows a fire road. The terrain becomes moderately steep. A reasonably conditioned hiker can finish the entire hike in about 2-3 hours, depending on stops. Most of the higher elevations of the hike provide views of the pacific ocean or Century City and Downtown LA. The cooling breeze from the pacific makes this a refreshing hike.

I saw a Thai restaurant when we were there recently near the beach, but we ended up at Gladstones. Sorry can't comment on the Thai restaurant as we didn't go, but Gladstones was nice and right on the beach. I think the Thai place was the other side of the road to the beach. Depends if you're going for food, view, etc. Enjoy!
I saw a lot of dogs on my hike. 🤷🏼♀️that said, I wasn’t looking for the signage (because I don’t have a dog) so I can’t say for sure.
I did see a lot of dogs on my hike but I’m not sure if they are actually technically allowed.
