Kenya checked us in and following her warm welcome the rest of the hotel staff managed to exceed my already high expectations. My friends and I were there for a conference. It was nice to receive pleasant individual attention to our needs but seeing the care they provided our special needs and elderly attendees made me especially happy with the staff. We made it a point to use public transportation while there and the staff provided essential local insight on how best to use this resource. All in all this was a perfect stay and such things are impossible without such a good staff. I don't know when the next conference will take me to Dallas, but I sincerely hope it does so I can stay with you folks again. Thank you for taking such good care of all of us.

We stay at Homewood Suites often when we travel, and chose this location for our time in Dallas due to its proximity to Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. The walk to the convention center is relatively short and easy, plus there is plenty to see and do nearby, so the location is wonderful. The room had a few issues that decreased our rating by 1 star, including a very loud HVAC fan, slow-draining bathroom sink, broken toilet flusher, and some cosmetic damage. However, the best redeeming feature was wonderful water pressure in the shower. The morning breakfast was great, with different items on offer each day, 3 waffle makers, including a Texas-shaped one, and delicious coffee. The breakfast area was kept clean and stocked. We found that they would open earlier than the posted time, which can be helpful if you need to be somewhere early. The Suite Shop is stocked with a good variety of food, drinks, and other provisions you may need if you are short on time. However, verify that you are charged correctly for your items; a bottle of pop cost $5 one night and the same flavor cost $4 the next night. I did not see the error in the charge until I received my receipt the evening after we checked out. We did not park a car, but there is a good pick-up/drop-off lane on Elm Street just outside the east entrance to the hotel for ride shares or delivery services. Overall, our stay was very good and we would stay here again should we return to Dallas in the future.

Haunted Dallas Stayed here last week with the family. Let me tell you a true story. The last night we stayed in the hotel, I took some clothes with me to the third floor to wash in the hotel washer/dryer room. As I turned the corner to the door to that room, I heard the distinct sound of footsteps directly behind me. The footsteps sounded like dress shoes on a hard floor. The 3rd floor is completely carpeted. The footsteps didn’t sound like they came from the floor above, the 4th floor, which was also completely carpeted. I turned around, and retraced a few steps and headed back to the laundry. The footsteps faded away the second time I approached the laundry room door. There was nothing threatening or ominous about the footsteps, but they were certainly out of place and a bit otherworldly. Supernatural. And I consider myself a rational, scientific person who doesn’t buy into these kind of things (like the wife does). I told my wife about it that night. The next morning at breakfast, I asked one of the employees if the building was haunted (it used to be an old railroad building and a building that manufactured silverware). At first the employee demurred, but I pressed again cheerfully. “Well, sometimes stuff happens on the third floor.” My jaw dropped. She then said two things that tend to happen on the third floor. I can’t remember the second because I was so astonished when she said the first: FOOTSTEPS. I did not feed this employee this information. She directly confirmed what I experienced. I dashed to the breakfast table and grabbed my wife over and asked her to tell the employee what I had said to her the night before. Apparently there is a bunch of other stuff that happens in this old building but I couldn’t remember it all, save the confirmation of what I had experienced: footsteps on the 3rd floor. Would be cool to try to experience the others. Overall the hotel is okay. Service and rooms aren’t bad. Breakfast is alright but probably needs more healthy options. Location isn’t far from anything in downtown Dallas but the neighborhood isn’t very walkable (felt sort of seedy). But if you like old buildings with a haunted history, this is one of your spots!

We ordered 2 rooms. We paid the same price for both rooms. One was amazing, big and felt like a hotel room, but the second one was so small the suitcase barely made it through the door. In my order I asked to be on the same level or at least close to each other, the first room was on the 2 floor and the other on the 7th. If you decide to come to this hotel know this the staff is super friendly, you have to pay for parking at the hotel and make sure you stay on the higher levels so you get a normal size room.

They also have icemakers inside the freezer / refrigerator in the rooms.
Valet parking is $25 per night and to park behind the building using the alternative parking lot is $15 per night
Huge living area including kitchenette with full size refrigerator. However, insist on cleanliness since these suites seem to be last cleaned.
