I will start by saying we had an absolute nightmare plumbing situation at the fort apartments two days ago. Like many of the other 1 star reviews it was not initially handled properly. However, I took the time to have it addressed by the front office during normal hours and felt that Caleb, Madelyn, and the team met us with the necessary approach to such a situation. Caleb addressed all my demands and showed that we were valued at the Fort. Thank you so much for that. Beyond this initial instance that prompted me to leave this review, the fort has very good sound insulation compared to other apartments I have been in. The materials are very modern and homey. The location is the most subtle aspect of the fort. It is walking distance from Fort Harrison State Park, minutes from the highway, and surrounded by trees. If the maintenance issues can be ironed out and the front office continues to do a great job, I would recommend the Fort to anyone looking for a nice apartment.

I lived at the Fort for just over 6 years. Management changed during that time. I loved the apartment and location but could not take the absolutely awful excuse of “management” anymore. If you have no issues and have no need to communicate with the apartment office or manager? You may be good (although they do like to charge random “late fees” so definitely keep a very close eye on your rent statements). But seriously, any issues at all (no matter how big or small?) You’re in trouble and in for a fight. There are too many issues for me to list here but I will reference one (as I know this would have been the most helpful to me if I were the one reading this review, specifics help). We had a flood in our apartment (caused by water coming down from the vacant apartment above us) and had to get the state involved in forcing management to address it. We were without power due to flooded lights we chose to keep off so as to not, you know, cause electric shock or burn the building down, management sincerely did not care and stated it was our choice to keep the lights off. Shocking to me was the fact that per rental agreement laws in the state of Indiana, one is not obligated to provide their tenants with electricity 🤷🏻♀️ but it is the right thing to do. Sadly the fort management could care less (though I’m sure a response will be posted to this review as I have seen with others...seems they are more responsive to their bad reviews than their actual tenants, yikes!). The maintenance staff is friendly and helpful but getting them there was a constant battle (not a maintenance staff issue but a management issue). Truly the worst experience with apartment management I’ve ever had or heard of. New apartments are being built all around the Fort I highly recommend you select one of them as you are guaranteed to have better management and this is important especially in aging apartment buildings. As a tenant you want to know and feel good about your management responding especially in a crisis and this management will not.

I recently moved into The Fort Apartments. Overall my experience was good. I scheduled a viewing of their model. During the meeting everything was explained clearly and all charges were stated upfront. The leasing and payment is all online which makes it easy for the tenant. So far the residents in my assigned building are quiet and there's an overall feeling of relaxation in living here. I had a couple minor requests after moving in and the management took care of them rather quickly. So far very good.

The overall staff have been friendly and super helpful since my initial interest. I had a few maintenance issues in my apartment since upon moving in, but the maintenance staff were always quick to resolve them. I love how secure my building is and the property is almost always kept clean. The only issue is trash and recycling (which is to be expected with a large community) and the staff has been working to resolve the issue. Parking is sometimes scarce and I have to park semi-far from my door, especially if guests are visiting.

The apartments range from 1bed of about 930$ to 3 bed of about 1500$.
Any utilities included?
