I was last here about 20 years ago (I was 6 or 7) with my sister. There were little things that went wrong here and how some of the staff treated us, but most of everyone was really good to us, especially the multiple times I was there, a decent portion of my childhood was here! I hope they continue to make it more comfortable for children over time (especially the beds lol)

My son was here briefly and it was one of the worst experiences my family went thru. My son still suffers from the emotional damage that was done to him by the staff hear and foster care. I remember on our first phone call he cried because he wanted to come home and it made me cry and as said to my son "I don't know how this will end but we will make it thru together" she pulled me off the phone and told me I was damaging him and I was a sick woman who took pleasure in listen to my child cry. This has effect him still to this day he's home now and is not the emotional confident child that left and I know what he was told and over heard that day was the start of that. Seeing my child be forced to bury his true feelings to make the adult staff members job easier was beyond hurtful. The limited scope of these people educational background both in school and in life, mixed with the state of mind of these lost, vulnerable, children is a ticking time bomb for life long mental illness for both the child and the parent which they claim be there to "prevent". My son has manifested many symptoms of depression, has chronic anxiety and now has a learning disability he is receiving therapy for. All these didn't exist pre-Polinsky, he was well adjusted and the class clown. Not to mention how her words still reply in my mind today and that was 2 years ago. For anyone going here to see there kids, remember, They really are NOT happier without you.

I was there in the year of 1998 with my younger siblings, From my recollection the staff were on there A game. I believe that children & pre teens should have a well "Trained Therapist that pacifically deal with Childhood trauma. Alot of things can be work out if one has the above. Not every child that goes through these door needs medication aka forced medication. A Therapist that has the credentials in dealing Childhood trauma is the BEST OPTION for the Child/Pre Teen.

They locked me and my friends out the cottage and I’m very cold and soaking wet. I could get sick and they still have us outside. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. They neglect the kids even though this is supposed to be a safe place for kids who have traumatic experiences.
