Largest crystal we have ever found pushing 60- 80 pound's. Broke it up to make it easier to carry.

There are a lot of beaches and water access around the lake/reservoir. Some of them were very crowded with more boisterous party types and others were relatively peaceful. They all seemed to have access for launching small craft like kayak/paddleboards

Beautiful there! Everyone should go slower and really enjoy the scenery!

Went for a drive a few weeks ago and we were absolutely shocked cascara campground was open but the lake was empty usually this time of the year it's full the swim area and boat dock had zero water so strange I wonder if something is going on that I don't know about??! I know we haven't had nearly enough rain but I have never seen it this empty in may! Nuts!

Fall Creek state recreation area covers the area immediately around Big Fall Creek Lake, and while there are several campgrounds around the lake itself, camping outside of these grounds is prohibited. As for the creek itself it runs several miles toward Eugene and the McKenzie River with a handful of campgrounds along the way. I personally do not know of any dispersed camping that is allowed but the Willamette National Forest has a great many campgrounds that are open for camping at reasonable rates and are operated on a first come first serve basis. I have been working and staying in the town of Fall Creek for a couple months now and highly recommend enjoying any of the wilderness out this way. It some of the most beautiful in this a state and the country!
Campgrounds are already open. Still alot of downed trees but they aren't in the way of anything. There will be alot of campfire would for many years, provide campfires are aloud this summer. Currently they are.
Yes. You can launch windberry side or North Shore boat ramp. Not right now tho. They let too much water out on North Shore side
I have camped there many times this time of the year the ranger's said you can you just have to walk in around the gates and pack out what you pack in and it's free no water or toilets
