First time here, I went and took a short hike to recon the area for mountain biking. There are lots of trails some would take you to sections of Canyon Lake, but sad to say they were all unmarked. It would nice if the city's park service could provide markings and update the restroom, there is only one and in need of repair. Bring lots of water and snacks specially during warmer days. This place would be gorgeous during spring (wild flowers season).
