My spouse and I (military family with dog) recently moved out after living at Island Club for 1.5 years and while many things aren’t perfect, TLDR we would probably have renewed our lease if we didn’t move out of Oceanside. Unit: 4/5 - Overall nice. We had vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, spacious balcony, nice appliances, and our keypad and thermostat were controlled via app, which was awesome. Windows/door weren’t sealed well, cabinetry was old and worn, and there’s no ceiling lighting in the living room and bedrooms. *However, they are currently renovating all units. Leasing office/property management: 4/5 - could be friendlier and more communicative/reachable. Tough to get a call back from the office unless they reached out to you first or you go in person during business hours. Lease: 5/5 - Pet friendly (additional pet deposit/rent), and we loved that we could sign a lease for between 12 and 24 months (not just in 12 month cycles), which was great being a military family. Maintenance: 5/5 - Awesome, prompt, quality work and friendly. Easy to submit requests and the team always does a job well done. Grounds: 3/5 - Overall well kept and regularly maintained (trees and shrubbery are beautiful) though some building exteriors and car ports desperately needed attention. Also, many dog owners fail to pick up after their dogs even though bags and trash cans for dog waste are readily available. Management says they will issue fines for anyone not picking up after their dog, but this didn’t seem to alleviate the issue. Parking: 4/5 - We paid extra for a reserved, covered car port and it was worth it. Only complaint is that it’s still a bit of a walk from the units and there’s no option for guest parking outside business hours. Also, there is nighttime security, but we have heard of vehicle damage and theft happening, though it never happened to us. Amenities: 3/5 - Fitness center and pools are nice, though the hot tub at the pool nearest us wasn’t working properly for 75% of the time we lived there. When it reopened after covid, it was closed for maintenance for months and still wasn’t working properly after it reopened.

I have been living here for 2 years and let me tell you.. - Water shuts off regularly. Looks murky. - MOLD problem. - Leasing office states “only 2 cars allowed per apartment” however, many tenants literally have 4 cars - meaning less available parking for other apartments. - Roaches can be seen on the sidewalks. - Christy and her staff can be rude, not helpful at all. Just want money. - Pools aren’t well kept, only 1 really works. - Everything in the apartment is painted over, won’t even care to fix anything up. - Leasing office states that “guest passes are available” However, when you ask Christy for one for SOME REASON it’s unavailable or that they’ve never gave that out before. I could go on and on about the issues here at Island Club and if I could turn back the time I would have looked somewhere else to live. It looks like a good community at first but everything comes to light after living here for some time. Future tenants looking to rent here.. do not do it.

I have had absolutely no issues with living here! The community is so nice and the maintenance workers are so kind and respectable! Anytime we submit a service request they always reply within a timely manner. My husband and I love our two bedroom apartment with our balcony. We couldn’t recommend this place more!

Moving in process was so easy! The leasing staff was so helpful and professional! I huge shout to Sierra who helped my roommate and I find the perfect apartment. She went out of her way to make sure all of our needs and wants were met! Island Club is kept clean and maintenance responds in a timely manner! Best place I’ve lived! Would highly recommend!

What does everyone do about not having lights in their rooms? Just buy lamps? I want to know why there are switches but no lights!

Hi there. I noticed this too. There should be a wall plug in the room that looks upside down, and the switch basically controls the top of that plug. If you connect a lamp there, you should be able to control it with the switch. Make sure you're lamp is always on so you can turn it off and on from the switch. Every room should have this, even the living room. What I mean by upside down, is that I doesn't look like this: ('.') But it looks like this: (,',). Hope this helps.

Why do you care so little for the people you rent to?

I just read your review of Island Club, my husband was having an issue regarding parking last year. He was having to park at a friend's house, we complained directly to the apartment manager and she waived our parking fee for 3 months. I think the apartment manager is great and definitely addresses all needs. I'm sorry you couldn't find parking, I agree this place is a mess in regards to that.
