Security at the entrance of the building was quick. When I got to the third floor I was asked for my confirmation number and directed to a window. I provided my paperwork and was helped right away. Other than finding paperwork, this was super quick, efficient, and people were friendly.

This is a strong case for know before you go. Fill out the form correctly. If you do it online and print it is easier. Bring passport pictures (2). You can also take them in the building. Bring proof of who you are. Old passport is the best. Birth certificate for minors. Come early before they open at least an hour or more. We got a yellow slip the day before which moved us to the front of the line. Return before 3 to wait in line again. You have been warned.

I have my Certificate of Citizenship to renew my passport and have made of copy of it, front and back to show. My question is are you going to retrieve my original or is a copy of it sufficient?

If you go to travel.state.gov you can get current rates on a new passport keep renewing a passport as well as applicable expedite fees if you need them.
