I’ve been coming to Merrillville longhorn over 5 years. I enjoy eating at this restaurant. I advise you not to go after 7 o’clock ! The service is extremely disappointing ,the meal I order yesterday wasn’t good at all the shrimp was burnt tasted like the grill wasn’t clean the rice was dry possibly old I order asparagus very hard no seasoning .My whole meal was incorrect .I wasted money and time.Called and spoke with the manager Matthew is very rude didn’t try to correct the mistake the restaurant made.unfortunately Matthew didn’t care he gave me an attitude and tried to tell me that the food looked good to him insulting my intelligence I had to get my food remade and pay again I will never go back to this location I enjoy long horn so portage it will be from now on !!!!

Broken Reverie

I wish the stars were out of 10, because that's what my past experience was. My girlfriend's birthday was last Friday, and she wanted to have LongHorn for her birthday lunch/dinner. We had been to this location a few times before, and never had Darnell as our waiter. We had him this time around and he is EASILY the BEST person to have. He had such an upbeat and bubbly personality and was serving so many other tables and booths, in the general area of our booth. I gave him what I hope was a very generous tip, but he deserves all the money that LongHorn can give. Fantastic service! And yes, the food is great. It has yet to be a bad experience with food and service.

Visited during our recent "staycation" and must say it was great!! The t-bone steak was cooked to perfection (medium well), but I was completely tender steamed broccoli, that melted in my mouth!!

A bit of a wait but it was very good. We had a bit of an appetizer issue but it was quickly resolved by the manager. Dinner was very good and our server was fantastic. The manager (I didn't get her name) was very nice and very much on her game.
