I work in the service industry and I can tell you that "customer service" barely exists these days. Well I want to mention an incredible employee experience that we had at the UPS center in Newport, Oregon with Katy. It's Christmas time, 2 years into a pandemic which has dramatically increased online shipping and Katy offers to go an extra mile to help us with a return to Amazon which wasn't showing in her system as of yet (which we didn't ask for or even expect). We had expected to come back in a few hours after the return was showing in her system. But instead of letting us leave, she takes a few extra ordinary steps and extra time to circumvent our wait time and get the return processed right there (there were even impatience customers outside waiting). I just had to post this review of Katy's 5 Star customer service that she displayed with us. I hope UPS knows what kind of employee they have at the Newport, Oregon facility. Happy Holidays Katy and thank you for helping to make our day a little easier.

Be aware UPS has problems delivering packages with medications and medical supplies to specific addresses. I've had three shipments of medications and medical devices recently that were not delivered to my address one of which required a signature. I've had to wait all day for a package because it required a signature meaning I could not go anywhere. That happened today. I pay a lot of money to have things shipped and do not appreciate paying for a service I am not receiving. I should not have to go hunting around for where my packages are at because they're dropped in the wrong place. I have issues getting around and I should not have to go looking for my packages. I'm very frustrated that I can't talk to somebody local about this continuing problem. Livid because CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE UPS DRIVER HAVE BEEN MADE IN MY ACCOUNT online. The shippers have also put in delivery directions because I informed them of this problem. Its not just medical supplies. Very expensive electronics have been left in the wrong place and out in the open for hours before I could get them from the wrong place. Why UPS thinks this is ok is beyond me I'm truly and disbelief at the lack of responsibility and professionalism. So far I have not had to file a claim but the medications and medical supplies that have not been delivered to me are very expensive and if lost or stolen could result in being hospitalized. Not exaggerating. I'm left wondering if they take this stuff seriously. I would appreciate some help because calling the 800 number has been not helpful. FedEx seems to always get the packages where they belong. If you have a choice I would suggest using them. I'm being honest not to punish UPS but so that other people know it may not be wise to count on UPS delivering your medications or medical supplies in this area.

We went today to drop a package off. Had not been to this location before so not sure where we were going to. Saw a driver delivering at about 9th & Avery, stopped to ask him where we needed to go & he just said “I can take for you”! Most friendly, polite & nice driver. Just made our day so much easier! Do not know his name but I hope he knows how much we appreciated his help.

Call the UPS customer service toll free number and ask them to work with the drivers to help get packages closer to your door. Be aware that if there is any obstructions or safety issues this could prevent the drivers from being able to get it closer to your door, but calling customer service will help get your issues resolved. Hope this information helps.
You can also call UPS toll free number and ask them to redeliver with your updated address, they do this ALL the time, that way you don't have to go there at all. Hope that helps.

I had to build a drop box for my box be delivered to my home due they won't go down private drive ways. call them to see if you can just go pick it up there.
