Grizzly Peak is one of my favorite top hikes in the Berkeley area. There are multiple trail passes to get up to the peak. I used neighborhood parking near the Claremont Hotel. There’s very limited spots, but I got lucky, & found one, it helped that I got there in the early AM. My hike was over 6 miles with 1,600 feet of elevation gain. It was a good workout, as there were some steep parts. The trail was mostly shade and just some sun. It is my favorite because I hike through woods for most of the trail. I saw a lot of different wildflowers, birds, & butterflies. It was very quiet, and there were not that many hikers. The more I climbed up, the better the view got, and the less hikers around me so it’s very peaceful. This is one of the best breathtaking views of the Berkeley Hills, the Bay Bridge, the SF Bay, the GGB, the Richmond Bridge, and even parts of the ocean in the distance. Too bad Grizzly Peak is locked behind a fence due to the tower on top. Anyway, I highly recommend a good pair of hiking shoes, trekking poles, water, some snacks, and sun protection. I plan to come back here at "Dusk" to catch the Sunset and the Lights coming on over the City...

We did the Seaview to Quarry trail loop. This was an excellent trail to hike on. It was a bit rocky so wear good hiking shoes and bring poles if necessary. I recommend poles for this trail. Personally I stumbled on a few rocks during this trail. At the top there is a great view point of the dam and bay area. This is a moderately trafficked route. Doggos are welcome !!!

The trails are somewhat maintained and the views are really nice. Looks like a great place for kids with the merry go round. The bathroom is really clean with normal flushing toilets and a hand dryer. Would have given 5 stars but getting to the park is pretty scary because of all the hills you must traverse.

Went on the Vollmer Peak Trail and it had grand views of the Bay during Sunset. Definitely worth the hike

yes
No they have a train ride. And a merry go round. Lots of trails. Picnic areas. Places to throw birthday parts as well.
I've seen a couple trails where dogs are not allowed, but those are marked with signage. There's definitely coyotes that roam, so you may want to keep your dog leashed if they tend to roam far on their own.
Hello! Tilden Regional Park doesn't have a ferris wheel, but does have a historical Merry-Go-Round. It is currently closed but will open once it is cleared for safe opening by Alameda County, Contra Costa County, and the East Bay Regional Park District. Thank you for your question!
Yeah I agree with Angelique. No bears but rare mountain lions and more common coyotes. I'd also check for ticks (during tick season) after visiting. Additionally, make sure you know what poison oak looks like since it's everywhere. But don't let that discourage you - lots of beautiful birds and wildlife here including deer and turkeys. Loved this park since I was a kid. Enjoy your trip!
I'm not exactly sure cuz I haven't been up in two weeks but I would assume if so very miniscule, I think we should expect more within the next two weeks
No. Although access to lake anza is currently closed
Each location at the park has its own facilities. Most but not all locations have restrooms.
Yes: AC Transit Bus 67
Yup
No
Yes, but it should be done in a proper BBQ pit rather than an open fire. There are many locations within the park where permanent BBQ pits are placed.
About 1200 ft
Yes, you have to pay for the swimming. But you can not have a chance to jump, or dive as the lake area open to swim is shallow. Mainly for novice visiters and family picnics.
The price varies depending on age but 16 - 61 is $3.50. Also you'll wanna check before hand if the lake is swimming condition! And for the reviewer above, the whole point of these questions is to provide quick answers for google and users.
Yes, a very large park with lots of different areas and trails
Or you can visit the office of the Tilden Park Golf Course
There are lots of benches, i dont think you really need reservations, but... If you really want to then calling the park ranger would be a good idea.
Hi John hanson, I remember my friends use to talk about the caves in Tilden park, by the MarygoRound behind the7 restrooms, back in the late 70s when I was in El Cerrito high school. It takes climbing down some 6steep cliffs to get to the caves But I have never gone to see them my self. I believe that area is where Wild Cat Canyon ends, at the Tilden Park. You might want to talk to the park service and hopefully get more info on the caves. Good luck. PreetSS
