I have been live here for six months. Everything is great for first five months, until I can hear a consistent buzzing noise in my bedroom. It tortures me when I try to get some sleep. I called maintenance to fix it for three times. They always say they will check it but it did not get better. So I tried to find source by myself. The buzzing noise comes from the fan in level B. To me this is a big problem. Hopefully they will fix it, let see. After three weeks, they replaced a new fan. The buzzing noise in my bedroom disappeared.

I’ve had maintenance come in a few times over the past few months for the same dryer issue where it was making odd clunking noise and didn’t dry in one cycle as it used to. Although all maintenance team were decent, Marco stood out from the rest for me on our last call. He identified several problems with it in detail, professionally explained and showed what the solutions were and took several hours handling business. He rolled up his sleeves and put in work where others couldn’t or chose not to, knowing it’s a big task that would take half a day. I had my doubts to be honest that I may have to call in yet again, so I held off on this review until we confirmed the dryer functioned properly again. This also isn’t the first time over the years we’ve been here that where we thought he went above and beyond. Truly a gold standard of the maintenance team. Hats off to you, Marco, splendid work!

Overall, I like living here very much. Below are my tips and observations as someone currently living in the units: Pros: -Wonderful amenities: Pools/spas and gym are cleaned regularly and never too crowded. Trash and mail rooms are clean. Best pools are by ones by the 25 and 50 building. -Parking: I can always find parking except on major holidays. Make sure to register any guests staying overnight. -Noise: Relatively quiet as they close most amenities at 10pm -Safety: I always feel safe here. They do have security guards at the main entry and the resident entry gates close after 10pm -Unit Location (my tip): In my opinion, the best units are by the 25 and 40 building facing the Palatine side. They have been remodeled completely and do not hear any of the construction. -Resident staff & maintenance: maintenance guys are amazing and really go out of their way to fix issues (be sure to make an appointment on your resident portal as that ensures it'll be done on schedule). Resident staff is prompt and professional. They were very accommodating when we first moved in. -Rental Portal: You can set up autopay for rent online with your checking account. Game changer. Make sure it's your checking account to avoid the 2% processing credit card processing fee. -Internet: Google Fiber is at $70/month. Or you can get Cox Business 500 mbps at $55/month currently. If you choose Cox, go instore as you'll get a better deal. Now for the things I wish someone had given to me straight (AKA Cons): -Construction: they are going through phased construction. The tennis courts are closed as part of the construction staging area. As of today, most of buildings 60, 65, and 70 are going through construction. It is loud in building 70 and goes from 9am - 4pm most days. If you are in one of these units, they'll give you concession of maybe $300 off per month but I would seriously keep this in mind if you work from home. If you are one of the unfortunate souls in a building adjacent to the construction, you will not get that discount. Be aware and try to tour in the morning when you can see how far and loud the construction goes. By my guess, this property will be immaculate in 2023 or 2024 but 2021-22 seems to be the year of renovation. As I write this, our elevators are also going through more maintenance - however, they do a good job of giving you at least a week's notice. -Dog owners: This isn't on Villa Siena but is targeted at the bad apples who don't clean up after their dogs. Villa Siena even supplies doggy bags at every corner but every morning, I see some poor maintenance guy on his hands and knees cleaning up sidewalks, grass areas, you name it. Lots of good dogs - not enough good owners. All in all, it's a nice place to live and would be 5 stars without all the construction. I've attached some photos of a 1 bedroom/1 bath (model plan I). Hope someone finds this useful.

Nice apartment to live in. The most satisfied part is their maintenance team. Every time I need something to repair I just fill a form online and maintenance team will send a guy tomorrow. I am truly grateful Marco, who is in the maintenance team. He helped us fix many things at home. Very efficient with extremely friendly and helpful attitude!! I appreciate his professional works and I will continue finding him if I need maintenance in the future.
