This place was great. You pay one price like a buffet, but they serve you and bring it to the table family style in bowls. We went to a similar place once and you sat at big tables with people you didnt know, this one you sit at your own tables. You get everything on the menu and can get more of anything you want. First they bring you a salad (summer) or soup (winter). Then they bring you a bowl of everything. Drinks and desserts are included. We got the Chocolate Cake (very good but super sweet) and Strawberry Shortcake. They also had Banana Pudding. We only got one serving of everything and left stuffed. It all was very good. I do have to mention the Fried Chicken was cooked to perfection!! They also do a Breakfast meal on the weekends. We went midweek around 1:30 and only waited about 15 min. But if you go on a weekend I would probably make reservations. They do turn tables over pretty quickly though. Would definitely go back if I could afford to eat like that, without gaining 100 pounds!!

Country cooking served family-style. Fried chicken was delicious. It is served with cooked apples, country-style steak, green beans, kernal corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, & wonderful biscuits. Desserts are strawberry shortcake, banana pudding, & chocolate cake. When given a choice, choose the chocolate cake! You won't be sorry.

If you want to gorge yourself on some amazing food while in Boone, go to the Daniel Boone. Fried chicken, ham biscuits, and much more are cooked to perfection and brought to your table. Eat as much as you want, but save room for some delicious dessert. Cash only though. Staff is excellent and friendly. The place is just amazing.

Visited for the first time today! My boyfriend said this place is absolutely amazing so I was excited to try it out. I like the environment- very southern and home feeling. We waited for about 35 mins or so before we got to sit down. The waiter was very kind and attentive. I liked the food - the fried chicken was great! I loved all of the sides as well. The only thing I didn’t like was the country fried steak. It was disgusting. I hate to put it that way but I was so disappointed. It was basically a piece of hamburger meat with bland gravy. We had strawberry shortcake for dessert and it was delicious! I did notice as I was leaving the sanitation rating …. 91.5!!! That was a complete turn off to be honest. I doubt I’ll go back but it was over all a good experience.

I believe soup is for dinners but I might be wrong. I was just recently here for lunch.
Yes, they are normally open Thanksgiving Day and serve a hearty, traditional Thanksgiving meal. Get there early because the crowd is unbelievable that day.
