Ended up back at the children's er with the grandson having a 2nd seizure. The doctors and nurses were great both times but hope to not have to see them again under those circumstances.

It's funny how many people who post negative reviews here have massively unrealistic expectations of the role an Emergency Department should play. Grow up. Despite being busy and the hospital being full, I was treated relatively quickly and fairly. Several people who checked in after me went to rooms first, because they had more acute conditions and needed medical attention first (WHICH IS HOW EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS ARE DESIGNED TO WORK).

I was in full aFib, went to ER and intake nurse was callous. Put my finger in an oximeter to check for HR and she didn’t even pay attention to the screen readout that showed it bouncing around. She just saw one number and co concluded I wasn’t in aFib. That nurse doesn’t need to be working there making decisions she isnt qualified to make. I was in fact in aFib. The triage nurse saw it (I had my own 4lead ECG device on clearly showing it), and the nurse who did the ECG printout said I was aFib. Waited over an hour experiencing a cardiac event when my wife went to ask how long to see a doctor and that intake nurse said there were others before me and that I wasn’t in aFib. So we left. Clearly I’m fine now, but for crying out loud…had I stayed waiting on them I would have been there until next Christmas. Only they’d need Santa’s bag to haul away my bones. Needless to say, it’s not surprising how and why the review is 2- stars. Bet if more gave reviews it would be 0. Next time I experience an aFib episode I’m going to Deaconess.

Absolutely no sense of urgency at this ER. Spent 9 1/2 hours total, 8 of which were spent waiting. We interacted with a total of 3 check-in staff, 5 RNs and a MD. It was sad that the second nurse's priority was to make sure that I had the money to pay for the visit before anything else. A triage nurse was friendly and helpful. She mentioned that the reason why this ER is struggling is because of unvaccinated people. For readers of this review, if you are not vaccinated by your own volition - please stop causing more problems. Just get vaccinated.

Every hospital in the nation has been extremely short staffed. The nurses and doctors are just doing their absolute best to keep patients alive and safe. Being an employee at a hospital, I can tell you that between 7pm and 10 pm is the busiest time for us nurses, as we are just coming on shift and trying to get patients squared away for sleep. I'm sorry you felt like the service was lousy. We are just a hospital. Not a hotel. And we are working our hardest, Many times 12-16 hour shifts to make sure the hospital is operating at a safe enough staff level for your husband. Even when we're not short, it's just as difficult for us to get updates from doctors, because often times they have more than 50 patients of their own. We do appreciate your patience.

Are family members able to accompany patients in the ER?
