The maintenance staff here at MAA Midtown is wonderful, especially Junior! He takes good care of us! We had one chirping smoke alarm and he came to the change batteries in all of our smoke alarms and also synchronized them. He also changed our air filter too and provided additional air filters in case we wanted to change them our to help the AC run better. Junior is a true asset to this complex!

The management company recently changed here and that transition was handled very poorly by both entities. Communication and maintenance is horrible here. We've noticed a huge uptick in spiders, which can only mean they're finding other bugs to eat. The package locker went down for a while and now the grills are out of order. The gym and amenities go a while without being cleaned. Tenants are leaving trash and letting their pets use the halls as a bathroom lately. Finding a parking spot is an issue here and there are cars parked here which haven't moved since I moved in almost a year ago. You can hear everything your neighbors do. We've had unsolved issues with our unit since we moved in. Our cabinets have been warped since day one and management said they were filing a warranty claim but that was several months ago. The neighborhood is questionable and we've seen drug deals go down from our balcony. We pay a lot of money for what we're getting here.

Wanted to echo what Sarah and JW have mentioned below. In the half year I have lived here there have been more and more last minute about immediate changes which are usually not in favor of the tenants. Having to go out and buy a cashiers check to pay rent is something I have never had to do before, ANYWHERE. Will look to get out of the lease ASAP unless they make some serious changes in how they run this complex.

WHAT SARAH SAID BELOW. Novel midtown whose rent price for my exact unit has gone up $200 now only takes cashier checks. Novel can add game machines and an airstream trailer but cannot afford to maintain an online portal. In addition to this, their email which they sent out at 5:56 pm, 4 minutes before their office closes did not state how residents are now supposed to submit maintenance requests. Its 2022, there is no reason anyone should have to pay $1800+ in rent and a fee for a cashiers check every month.
