So thankful to the Vca Salem animal clinic who went above and beyond to help save my choking rabbit even though they don’t typically see “exotic pets”. After being turned away by two other clinics we pulled in as they were closing and they brought my sweet boy back and took such wonderful care of him while the Vet discussed Turner’s options.I’m forever grateful to them for being so incredibly kind to me and saving my sweet boy 💗 His girlfriend potato is also very very grateful 🥹

I called first because my dog was sick and needed to see a vet, was told I would need to come to their office. I did exactly that. When I got there I parked and the sign said to call to check in so again I did exactly that. I was told someone would be out shortly to check us in. Over an hour after we arrived someone finally came out to my vehicle. The lady who came out to my car had my dogs name wrong and had no information for me as to when my dog may be seen. She also had no information as to weather I would be able to go in with my dog or if they would come out and get him and then bring him back to me after he had been seen. She did tell me that if we were still there in an hour and no one had come and updated us to call the office again. An hour later we were definitely still there so I called again. At this point the ladies on the phones were actually quite rude to me and seemed annoyed at me calling even though I was just doing what I had been told to do. They gave us no information as to when my dog may be seen, told me that there had been several critical patients brought in today and they would come out to my car whenever my dog could be seen. I then waited another 2 and a half hour before I called again and was treated very rudely again so I left and took my dog elsewhere. An hour after I left a lady called and left a message letting me know it would be at least another 4 hours before he could be seen but that I could leave him there and then he would be seen and they’d call me after the vet had seen him when he was ready to go home.. I was incredibly disgusted and have lost all faith in VCA. I do not recommend taking your pet there especially in an emergency type situation!

05/24/2022 I am posting an update to my earlier review below. The owner of VCA Salem Animal Hospital persuaded me, through extended conversations, to return to the clinic with a guaranteed appointment on Sunday, May 22, at 4:30 p.m. I took Cody to the clinic, and had a thorough, professional exam by a veterinarian on staff and and a very capable vet tech. Cody was prescribed medication for a back condition, and we are scheduled for a follow-up examination on Sunday, June 5th. We received excellent follow-up communication from the vet tech, and the meds are doing good work, and improving Cody's condition. And although the first incident was difficult and inexcusable, the clinic has made a strong effort to work with me and with Cody to make up for the mistakes made. I am satisfied now that the clinic understands the mistake they made, and I hope that the incident was a one-off and will be addressed in staff training. Certainly the exam the patient received was industry-standard, and I loo forward to continuing to work with management to ensure that a similar incident never occurs again. I made an appointment at 4:30 p.m. on May 20, 2022, for the patient: My dog was suffering with lethargy, was not eating, and was having trouble moving. I arrived 15 minutes before the appointment. I watched as patient after patient after patient who arrived after us was admitted for care. When I asked why, I was told that these were emergency patients, and that I would have to wait until an examining room cleared. It was my second inquiry, and as with the first inquiry, I was told we would be seen in "10 to 15 minutes." Nearly an hour of waiting for my appointment had already passed. I asked if we could be seen more quickly if we had come in as an emergency, I was told, yes: If I paid the much higher fees for emergency treatment. This behavior was a direct violation of the veterinary oath: "All veterinarians take this oath upon graduation from veterinary college, being admitted into the field of veterinary medicine to practice wisely, with compassion and concern for both human and animal welfare. We also generally adhere to the medical profession's ethic of Primum non nocere, first do no harm." The patient's needs were ignored, and no one in the practice showed compassion or concern for his welfare. We were shunted to the side, EVEN THOUGH WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT. Additionally, it was clear that higher payments were more important to this practice than the care of patients. I have been working in veterinary medicine for years, and I have never witnessed such an immoral, greedy, and indifferent attitude toward a patient in need. The response I received when I communicated with a representative about returning was that "we will do everything to make it a proper experience." Breathtaking indifference, with no attempt to mitigate errors this person openly admitted in the practice. Tepid corporate speak, broken trust, no action. Cold, with no concern for the patient. If you are looking for a good veterinarian, find a more humane and less greedy, indifferent practice.

The staff at VCA Salem Animal Hospital saved my pug after she got into the trash and ingested a large amount of stale dark chocolate cake. They got her in quickly and gave me a box of tissues because I was crying a lot which was nice of them. Also, the vet was very kind and thorough. He is a great communicator and ensured I knew that they did everything they could to help my pug. A couple hours later I was able to bring her home. Additionally, the visit wasn't too expensive. When I called them to ask more questions they were kind to me and even had a representative call me back later with more information. They were caring enough to call me the next day to check in on her which was really great of them. She recovered quickly and is back to her healthy, playful pug self. Thank you for saving my baby!

I take my dogs to iris willamette vet in keizer. The office visit I believe is $35. After that it goes case by case situation. Puppy will need to start shots too. Also the vca on commercial street is awesome as well. Very compassionate people and if u are a client there and need er for your pet I heard u get a discount.
It has to be removed. Going to the vet is the only safe way. This emergency vet has real nice people that work there
Not sure just call
VCA would be able to hrlp out with this they have a full groom station here
