I’m really not sure what to say about SixT. Upon arrival in Albuquerque they were great. Customer service was awesome and we got a nice upgrade for the same price. Drop off was just as good and we were informed that the computers were down so my card couldn’t be charged right away and deposit may be five days after. Totally fine. However, my card was finally charged almost TWO MONTHS later. Since it was a week long rental it was quite a bit of money and since I thought they had already charged the card, it overdrew our account and just left a mess we had to clean up. I emailed them asking why it took so long and perhaps they should have let the customer know that the charge was finally going to happen. No response other than the “thank you for your email” automated response. I feel they will just come back and say I should have kept better track of things. I still would recommend them- the face to face interactions were very friendly and professional. Just make sure their computers are up and running when you drop off and keep an eye on your bank account.

Best car rental experience! The staff are amazing, cars are new and clean, and the whole experience is seamless. Not to mention the price can’t be beat! Special thanks to Hassan who helped me tremendously at the ticket counter. So kind , patient and generous! They earned a customer for life. ❤️

Experienced traveler but first time renting with Sixt. Couldn’t be happier. Nathan & Andy are among the friendliest and most professional car rental agents I’ve encountered (and Ive rented cars in 5 different countries). I definitely chose the correct car rental in my perpetual quest to find one Chester Copperpot 🏴‍☠️

Bad customer service with no intention of resolving any customer issues! I had a run in with their really awful prepay policy. I booked a car for 3 days, accidentally got the time wrong by 1 hour and was charged for an extra day. Immediately noticed my mistake and called but was told there was nothing that could be done to refund the accidentally booked extra day. Pretty frustrating! The agent said she could however change the time to be correct so they knew when to expect me. I immediately got an email that not only showed the extra/unintentionally booked day but also a charge for changing my 10 minute old reservation. When I asked if there was anyone that could assist me to resolve this I was told that trying that would just end up in aggravation. Sooo frustrating! Never experienced anything like this with any of the more popular rental brands like hertz, budget, etc. Might seem like you’re getting a better value but it comes at the cost of a flagrantly indifferent customer service experience.

I believe auto rental desks sync and stay open late for all inbound flights, hopefully that happened for you

Can we pick up a car at EWR airport and have it returned by our son if two drivers are listed at time of pickup?

From my experience at the PDX airport your scenario would be fine. They do not check your ID upon returning
