So friendly!! My goodness gracious! Janet was the sweetest most friendly rental car staff I have ever met in my entire life. How she is so kind and sweet while also being very prompt in the check-in process was amazing especially after a long flight!!!!! I simply adored her! Thank you for the wonderful customer service!!!

Loved our rental car! Only had a couple issues (in the 9day trip) 1, the person we checked in with at the counter was not the most knowledgeable/helpful with explaining the insurance coverage that Alamo offers vs the coverage I purchased through a third party and having my own full coverage on my personal vehicle. I asked very simple questions yet got no clear answers. It was fine, luckily didn't have to use any of it! 2, the car we picked did very random weird things when I would shut it off or when starting it. None of this happened until a day or two into the trip of course. Nothing major just weird to see and hear the turn signal come on without touching it or anything (we were convinced it was possessed 🤣) but seriously, awesome gas mileage and super comfortable cars! Definitely will use again in the future! Thanks!

Booked through Costco Travel and had no issues. Landed around midnight and there was a sign at the counter to head to the Nationals desk in the garage for check in. Check was fast and smooth and was given a Hyundai Accent (booked a Compact car). Car was clean and basic and came with a Clorox wipe. Did a quick walk around and found no majors dents or stretches. Always check the roof of the car for dents (had a past Enterprise experience that tried to say I had hail damage to the roof). You can skip the prepay gas, Costco gas is way cheaper. Great mileage on the car which was awesome since gas prices are higher and we drove a lot. Car return was even quicker and no surprise charges.

Pick up and drop off were excellent. The Mini Cooper that we selected was not a conventional car, in comparison to a Toyota, Hyundai, or Chevie and would have liked a heads up by the person that took us to the available cars. Just had a steeper learning curve which we mastered sufficiently on our 5 day rental. Great mileage and filled up the car at a close-by 7-11.

We recently rented cars in 2 different weeks in August. Ours wasn't that much different in price when we rented Seattle to Seattle and Seattle to Portland with Alamo. They did charge extra for extra driver though...even a spouse.
It did not take us that long to return our car around 10 min But keep in mind that you have to wait for a shuttle so i would go at 8:30 to 9
After dropping off your car, they have a shuttle that will take you to the airport....about 5 minutes away

As far I know you must wait for them to open in order to return your rental and can't walk to the area since is too far to walk however they have shuttle service every 5 minutes you would be at the terminal in no time.
No problem with the shuttle. We actually had a 5 am flight and they had us there in plenty of time. Staff is fantastic and very helpful.
Go into your reservation email and click it, it should open you up to a web site with your reservation where you can select (or skip) the add-ons and change the dates and times. Then submit as if it was the original time you made the reservation. I changed mine 3 times Haha Hope this helps :)

Pricing is based on demand. Alamo also generally maintains the lowest rates at the Portland International Airport.
Well I wouldn't be surprised, sounds like something these companies would do. However I always thought your rate was based on your driving record. If that's the case and I would say you have a good case of age discrimination. Because it sounds like they're basing their rate on your age and not your Driving Experience.
They only allow this if you have a round trip itinerary.
