Have lived here @ Fort Totten Square a little over 3 years. Convenient location with metro, culture coffee too, walmart, chick-fil-a, and other food places just steps away. Community Manager Joyce is always friendly and easy to talk to. She has always taken great care of me whenever I had questions or help with re-upping my lease. Concierge is always pleasant and go above and beyond when the job calls for it. The 3+ years of me being here, a package has NEVER been lost. I recommend Fort Totten Square for your next DC living experience!

It is most unfortunate that I had to come back & edit my review for Fort Totten Square, over a year later. The moving out process from Fort Totten Square, a building that I have lived in since Labor Day weekend 2019 was beyond disappointing! My husband & i & our 4 month old infant lived on the third floor of the building up until January 2022. We took our time, over a month's work, to really clear out the apartment space while moving into our new home. I did the absolute best that i could, given the limited amount of help that we have as first time parents, to clean out the apartment before surrendering the keys to our apartment space back to Fort Totten Square. Unfortunately today, Thursday March 24th 2022, almost ONE month after we had moved from Ft. Totten, we get an email stating that there were a few things here and there that were not "cleaned" to their liking. We were then charged over $100 "cleaning fee" for the extra cleaning services unbeknownst to us. Keep in mind, the apartment space prior to us moving in last year was in deplorable condition. We were good tenants when we lived at Fort Totten Square; we never had any noise complaints, we always paid the rent on time AND I did not file a complaint when one evening one of the tenants in our building walked off with dinner that we had ordered from a restaurant that was supposedly left on the concierge desk area. Suffice it to say we are extremely disappointed with the moving out process conducted by Fort Totten Square. This is absolutely the worst send-off that we've ever experienced moving from an apartment building. We are very grateful that we have a new house to call a home because between the random fire alarms that would go off at odd hours of the day and night, while we were taking care of an infant, this living experience was beyond ridiculous. Fort Totten Square, please do better. Sincerely, Dr. O. Mmagu

I have been living at Fort Totten Square for almost a year now, and sadly, it was not what I was expecting in an apartment complex. The walls and ceilings are paper thin, so you can literally hear everything your neighbors are doing. I’ve had to call in noise complaints about my neighbor’s loud music several times now. The music has been so loud that you can hear it throughout the entire hallway, and other tenants have had to call the police about it. All of this was reported to management, and the issue still has not been resolved. Along with the noisy neighbors, the fire alarms go off at all hours of the night. On multiple occurrences, the fire alarms went off 3 or 4 times throughout the night. The property has sent out emails stating the fire alarm system has been “fixed” several times now, but the fire alarms still go off randomly through out the night. So if you’re looking for a place with peace and quiet, this is not it. I’ve also had plumbing issues to which maintenance has been unable to resolve and literally told me “Don’t call us again unless your apartment floods”. The building and its many amenities are very nice; however, dealing with noisy neighbors, fire alarms going off through out the night, poor maintenance, and many other issues, is not worth it in my opinion

The walls and ceilings are paper thin. I can hear my upstairs neighbors close their cabinets. I’ve spoken with the community manager J. Recto at least 4 times and everytime my issues have been brushed off. This has been an ongoing issue since day 1 of moving in. It’s now been 7 months and they’ve done NOTHING. If you want to be able to sleep at night without hearing your neighbors tap dance above you, STAY AWAY. $2000/month and absolutely no accountability. Update: Its been 8 months now. After 8 months of the ongoing issue, staff finally entered my apartment. They declined to do anything to rectify the circumstance. I quote, "its normal, there's nothing we can do." If I could attach a video to this review to show the extent of the noise I would. Again, KEEP YOUR MONEY AND YOUR PEACE AND STEER AWAY FROM FORT TOTTEN SQUARE.

Hi Kenneth. Fort Totten Square has a preferred employer program for active military, DC government employees, nurses, professors, teachers, EMTs, Fire Fighters, and Police Officers.

What do you have available? What are the prices and requirements?

You'll want to reach out to the leasing office directly. They're pretty great about response times.
