Breathtaking 360 view over Bend and the surrounding area! The infographics are also super informative.

Gorgeous backdrop for a somewhat strenuous 30-minute climb to the top where you’ll even find a map of the mountains at which you’re pleasantly gawking. Yes, that’s Washington state out there! Other fun displays await at the friendly visitor’s area — 4,140 feet up. Bring water and sunscreen in the summer…and a heavy coat in January. No bikes on the trails.

Great 360 degree views of the area. Hike was pretty basic, although few folks can say they’ve climbed to the top of an actual volcano… Pilot Butte is a cinder cone butte, and is a one of only volcanos that exist within a city boundary in the U.S.

I love this hike! A great workout even if you have not worked out in a while! The view is so rewarding and worth it. You can see all the mountains and can read about them once you reach the top. The top does have restrooms and water fountains. I take my kids up in a stroller so kid friendly, just be careful because cars do drive up while your hiking up. After the walk I take my kids down to play at the park so they can run off energy too.

There is a road to the top of Pilot Butte, from Greenwood, but it's closed in the winter and not actually part of the neighborhood park.
