Just went in to do a name change. Walked right in, no waiting and no appointment. The security person at the front desk was super polite and got me started. Then got called up right away and less than 10 minutes I was done. Going to buy a lottery ticket:)

Edited to add: This office swore up and down that they’d send my fiancé’s documents back via certified mail. They put his ID, SS card, court documents-IN THE REGULAR MAIL. When asked for someone to whom I can voice this frustration beyond a Google review, my request was not fulfilled. The process and experience we had with this office is absolutely unacceptable. I’m astonished that a social security office would act so carelessly and be so cruel. Of the multiple times I’ve called, I’ve had one good experience. Their policy to drop your ID in a drop box to be sent back by certified mail is insane. Still waiting for those IDs and documents. And the people on the phone? Most could care less about you or your questions.

I read here that drop box hours coincided with business hours. They do not. Drip box closes at 2PM on business day's 2 hours prior to closing time. Please beware. This isn't the easiest destination to reach. If I'd have known, I could have planned my entire day around this better.

Yes you can. When I was there about a week ago they were booked out til February sometime. Do what I did and get there about and hour before they open and stand at the door and not in your car because they will get in front of you anyway.
No never. When you fo get somebody they do not speak English and they are rude.
need to make an appointment online for my wife, Donna L. Farlow. on a Monday or Tuesday.
I found it much easier to show up about and hour before they open which is 9am and wait til they open and and grab a number like DMV and wait. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. If you do make and appointment they are probably out as far as March or further by now.
I always wait and go in 15 minutes before they close.☺
No, you'll get what you have been getting unless there is a cost of living increase.
No you don't have make and appointment. But get to the office at least and hour early and you'll probably be first in line. Then take a number and wait. They do take people with appointment first. Or you can sign up on line for you social security.
No sorry
Well it's not penalized because you can get a big tax return because of it
Molalla Ave
I just did that .. they said they don't take appointments for that you drop your documents off in the box and they return certified mail you DL as you will have to leave that. Just be sure that in the two days following tHtbyiu are home and don't miss the mail carrier to sign for your envelope with DL in it.
The office is closed and only open by appointment only. You can always apply for benefits online
No but you can only get in with an appointment
You could try looking up your answer on line. If you can't find it on their website you could always give them a call.
I would give them a call sorry I could not help
S.S. mails them to you at the end of the year showing the amount of benefits paid.
They don't accept Faxes. I asked them for their fax information they told me they cannot accept them.
I don't know but talk to someone who signs you up for medicare
Yes. McLaughlin all the way up.
You have to go to or acquire your birth certificate from the county you were born in first with that then you can get your other IDs. You need this first. And no to your first question, otherwise every illegal could get one as easy as peezy.
You can't get a social security card online For that reason I would doubt that you could apply for death benefits online.
There is only one way, go to the office pick a number, go to the window, then they mail it in 10 to14 days
Yes you go in and fill out the kiosk then you get a number. It will take you one to two hours to get your award letter.
No, it's all on a call tree computer
Its called a declaration letter and it has the exact amount of your monthly benefit and you can either pick one up at the S.S. Office or your can call the 1-800 number and have one mailed to you. I hope this helps.
Not sure what a W-4V form is for. I would call them first to be sure.
I don't know. Go down and the security guard will help you with your questions.
Marty, Jakye is right. You have to go to the county/state you was born in. Usually you need to go to the Health Department for that county or state.
If you have not yet received it, then contact Social Security to have a replacement sent to you
Yes
Yes during business hours
Copy of divorce decree, your ex's social security number and your driver's licence. Need to have been married 10 years to qualify.
I just walked in I didnt make a appointment, and my waiting time was only about 20 minutes not bad at all. I was in and out pretty much.
I believe it don't matter just a joint account
Average is a 1+ hour wait
Any paticuler reason for dealy to issue SSN ???
Take the family member's death certificate to the social security office.
For a social security card? No Charge.
Yes you can go apply for a replacement card and they will send it to you.
Tjat office is weird ide call first but i dont see why not we got our card tnere
The best thing I have found to do is get to the office and hour earlier then they open and wait at the door. You may have a few appointments ahead of you, but it moves along pretty fast.
Yes but it is inside of the lobby. You still have to come in during business hours.
Sorry I can't help, I really don't know. They are very helpful if you have time sit in waiting room. Some days the line is short. Good luck
Probably not
Did you lose your card? If so you can get a new one with the ID you mentioned and it Would be good if you knew your SS number. But like the previous person said you can't get a temporary one.
Take the death certificate to the SS office and show them and then I believe you will get his if it is higher and you are eligible.
Go into the office in Oregon city and they should be able to help. They open at 9am so get there at 8am and get in line and you'll be out in a jiffy.
The hours are 9am to 4 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. 9am to noon on Wednesday
Why isn"t there an answer. It is 3 weeks old!
