Was there last week with my son. We stopped in to get bait before hitting the pier. She knew exactly what was biting and on what bait and gear. We took her advice and my 8yr old son scored 7 Mackeral in about an hour with her recommended combo. I used my own tackle based on my own research and experience and was skunked. Next time I will show up with my poles and buy the bait and hooks from here. Super nice lady.

Cruelty to animals. Trap pigeons on their roof and then starve them to death. Wouldn't shop here if you paid me!

Don’t miss out on pier fishing when you are here in San Diego. Currently the pier is open but closes down at sunset. Crystal Pier Bait and Tackle is a great mom and pop shop and it is a really really good time. Must’ve reeled in over 60 mackerel fish. All small but had a great time. Thank you for such a great vacation experience!

Seriously one of the best times I've had in San Diego. They make it so easy to just show up and start fishing. $20/2 hours or $30/All Day makes the experience affordable and so memorable. We had so much fun, we came back for a second day. If you get stuck on something, just cut the line and then give you a brand new rig.Ican't recommend this place enough!

We went in the morning and fished from around 9:30 until about 11:30. We caught 3 fish and saw other people catch several. I would say early morning and late afternoon would be best.
We used shrimp. That caught about 8 fish in an hour. All small fish but you could use the small ones for bait too
They have live nightcrawlers
Not live but, frozen squid , shrimp and the like.
