My first experience with Moosejaw this weekend was absolutely amazing. I worked with Chad in getting climbing shoes through all of this COVID-19 madness and he demonstrated the best customer service I have ever experienced and I worked retail in the past. He is the manager at the store and leads and excellent team who are ready to help their customers at a moments notice. We had trouble getting our climbing shoes from other retail shops like REI. We contacted Chad by phone and had our equipment ready within minutes. This is a great store and excellent staff that takes great care of their customers.

The employees at the KC Plaza location are super nice and helpful. I tried on a pair of hiking boots and needed to size up. They didn't have my size in store so they ordered it and phoned me when it came in. The first time I went in the employee who assisted me was great (can't remember his name though!) and the second time I went in Chad assisted me. He was very informative and took time to dialogue with me about the multitude of hiking boot options out there. I still haven't made up my mind about which boots to purchase but when I do I will be purchasing them from Moosejaw. Excellent customer service!

Update: I reached out to the email given in the response to my review, and the director of retail for the company wrote me back very promptly. He was very nice and appreciative of my feedback, and he told me that if needed I can have an item shipped to the store for me to try on free of charge! I'm very impressed with how quickly he responded to me, and I will certainly be using this service in the future. If you're also disappointed by the lack of options in store, make sure you keep this in mind! As for the lack of help or advice in store from the associates, he plans to address it. Overall, my bad experience in store was made right by fantastic customer service and speedy follow through. I popped into Moosejaw this afternoon after browsing their website, hoping to find a quality ski jacket. Not only is their in-store selection very limited, the staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. I had to find someone to help me, and even though I was the only one in the store, the associate offered no advice or help in finding the right jacket for me. The only jackets that looked close to what I would need were on the top rack, which she pointed out to me and then walked away. I had to seek her out again to ask for help in reaching those items. Needless to say, I left empty handed and will not be back to this store. I will stick to REI or Backwoods, where they answer questions with more than a curt reply and don't act as if you're annoying them by asking them to do their job.
