First the host, Terry was awesome, very knowledgable of the area and conditions in the area. The restrooms were clean and ample for the number of campsites that are available. ODFW needs to update the fishing and hunting status though. The river is recovering from this years heat and warm waters for the trout fishing, but the deer population in the area also seems to be affected. Only suggestion more level campsites for campers.Other then that highly recommended! Beautiful area and great people to meet.

Hadn't camped here in literally 26 years....went with a friend for the weekend, it's as lovely as it was all those years ago. Well worth the drive from anywhere, clean and oh so beautiful....was a perfect weekend. Right on the Nehalem river, so peaceful. Already planning my next visit ❤️

I love this campground. Ive been coming here sense I was little, the people that camp here are always friendly and respectable, they sell fire wood in the mornings and use a wheel barrow to take it to your camp, and are very generous, have never had any problems here ever, the creek is very nice and shallow in most areas, great places to catch crawdads. Its not too far from the beach if you decide you wanna spend a day in seaside, theres a coffee shop down the road if thats just the kinda person you are, theres a road that goes up to a nice little lake with a trail that goes all the way around. A great place to get away for a few days and rates are affordable

We went last weekend and although there are signs saying day use is open, the day use area with the bathroom and picnic area is closed and blocked with barriers. Road is open though and you can find a spot off the side of the road to get to the river. Camping is not open and is blocked off as well.
Yes it is full a friend said they couldn't get a spot but just pass the camp ground a little ways there is a spot off to the right and there is a little stream that runs right next to it it might not be taken
Sorry, no idea. Was planning to head there Sunday. Will check back.
It is a primitive style campground, we have only camped at the walk in sites. In the campground I have only seen tent camping. I believe on the outer edge there are trailer sites, but the campground is a small loop.good luck.
IF THERE'S NOT A SPOT YOU CAN ALWAYS GO FARTHER UP THE WAY AND PICK A SPOT TO CAMP. JUST FOLLOW SAFETY RULES.
I'D COME AS EARLY AS YOU CAN SO YOU CAN PICK YOUR SPOT.
They have 32 sites, 6 rest rooms, river and stream access, and a multitude of trails and lost lake to hike. I camp there as much as possible...
Early as possible it fills up really fast
There are facilities farther down
Yes it's open. We were there last weekend and drove it all the way thru. And camping is open.
Day area is open. Cannot camp. This time of year is hard to find spot especially in the heat.
We went up there today. Closed up tight. We were very disappointed. Even day use is closed off. 🙁
No there is not. The only amenities they have is running water and vaulted toilets.
First come first serve 20 a night plus 5 for extra vehicle. Wasn't full last weekend but I expect that to change once school is out. Typically you can get a spot during the week or early Friday
$5 for walk up site. and if you go off on any trail stay 500 ft from a road 100 ft from trail or natural water river/lake its free you dont need to pay to back pack in Oregon forests, but be careful of this area because a lot of people own property surrounding the vacation home you pass so better to go down river. Also many people "back pack" just out side the camp ground and use the day use areas during the day so don't expect to be the only one with this plan.
There are some logging roads and the such around there if you want to ride go to browns camp or sand lake
There were 30 years ago. That's the last time I stayed there with an atv.
Usually it's two tents per site and two cars per site with an audition of $5 per car after the original 2
Yes, there is day use at no cost.
We were just there and the payment was made via a box. No onsite camp host. So, no age checking that we saw.
Its first come first serve, and you pick up a pay envelope, instructions are on the envelope. Stop and the big camp map board on the way into the grounds.
No, it's a very primitive site.
I believe this is the first weekend of the season that there is a host on site.
No. This campground has nothing but a fire pit.
Regular sites are $15 per night and the walk in sites are $10 per night. Also, if you have more than one vehicle there is a $5 fee for each additional vehicle.
Each day at the drive in year round spots are $15
No just the host spot, but rvs are allowed
There is space in both day use areas and overnight drive in spots
It's a self-issued pass/payment on site. The campsites are first come, first serve, so there are no online reservations.
