Nice easy trail. If you don't take the spur to the left, it's nearly completely in the shade. Not paved, but easy to walk on (although some spots get muddy). Only slightly hilly. A little over 4 miles straight out and back. Watch for the ruins, they are interesting to see, but mostly hidden. Limited parking. Bring your own dog poop bags. Keeping your dog on the path will avoid ticks. Carry out what you bring in.

Nice trail along the Big Elk Creek. Many beautiful creek views along the route. Bring bug spray; you will need it on calm days in the late spring and summer.

The day was misty and damp but that didn't deter us from walking the trail. It's a nice walk along Elk Creek and I'm sure to visit again but on a much dryer and sunny day.

Nice place to walk for a four mile round trip. Naturally you can shorten by just turning around. It is an in and out trail, no loop is possible. There are a couple of side trails to take to change it up a bit. Nice for dog walking or riding a bike.

Nope...
2 miles. There is a parking lot off of 841 at the beginning of the trail. The trail is great but be careful because lots of people bring their dogs and let them run around off leash.
